Meet the Author

Jason O'Grady developed an affinity for Apple computers after using the original Lisa and in 1984 he got a 128k Mac. He started writing one of the first daily Apple online publications (O'Grady's PowerPage) in 1995. After winning a major legal battle with Apple in 2006 O'Grady set a precedent that independent journalists are entitled to the same protections under the first amendment as the main stream media. He has written for the 8th and 9th editions of the MacBible (PeachPit Press) and has contributed to major Mac publications including a staff position at MacWEEK. His first book, Corporations That Changed The World: Apple, Inc. comes out in the fall of 2008.

    An absolute essential

I picked up this book on a whim after seeing it at the end of an aisle after the holidays. One of my family members received a Garmin nuvi as a gift, and we hadn't yet figured out how to use it beyond the basic functions.

This book covers not only how to use the most basic functions, but also basic safety, theft-prevention, customization, and more. It's become the invaluable handbook that really explains how to do what you need to do with your Garmin.

    Not for the newbie

My first experience with Garmin - I didn't even know there were different models with different features. Unfortunately this book did not help to inform.
An hour on the phone with Garmin tech did however.
I would like to see the book tell me which models have what features & how to use them.
I am a Mac user, but things I thought I could use were not available for my model so it just confuesd me more.
