    Must have for jewelry makers

I found this book to be well written and very helpful. I design custom pieces of jewelry and wanted to be able to tell my clients more about where the stones may have come from. I love the book.

    Excellent resource and reference

This is a wonderful book for anyone intersting in gems.
Whether a novice of seasoned professional this book will provide answers in a clear and concicse way. It is also excellent visually and a pleasant book to simply hold and peruse. As a seasoned jeweler, it is an easy to read book that goes back to basics.

    Extremely Helpful..

This is a good book to reference when collecting gemstones. It has really good photos with a true to color of the gemstones and minerals for collectors to compare to what they have. Would have liked it better if it had a little more detail on some of the stones with a "what you need to know" to buy and better identify the stones, but worth the money when you need more understanding of the gemstones and where they come from and the ballpark figure of their value.

    Stunning Detail of Gems

If you have ever wondered "what is this stone"...This book will probably tell you. Wether you are in the business or just someone who loves Gemstones, this book is a great find. The description brings the stones to life and the detail is amazing. Even stones you think you know, you will learn even more. The pictures are great and very clear. The book is informative without talking over your head or down to your toes. This book is a great reference book. You can learn how to handle stones you might have, the hardness of the stone is especially valuable to know.
