About the Author

Stel Pavlou makes stuff up for a living. Despite all advice to the contrary, he intends to go on making stuff up until somebody physically stops him. Distractions would be the best bet, food mainly, and the odd shiny thing.

Stel Pavlou is Anglo-Greek so only 50% of his gift giving should be treated with any suspicion. Stel is short for Stelios. No one knows what Stelios means. One guess is it’s from the Greek word for ‘pillar’. Another guess is that it’s the masculine form of Stella, meaning ‘star’. Stel gets asked this a lot, which is odd because he never came up with the name. That was his parents. Pavlou is the Greek for Paul, which means ‘small’. Stel is six feet four, incidentally.

Stel Pavlou has published two bestselling novels, Decipher and Gene. He’s written for Doctor Who. His first film was Formula 51 starring Samuel L. Jackson. He recently worked with Morgan Freeman on adapting Rendezvous with Rama. He is currently working on a series of young adult books, a new thriller and a new movie.
