Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Credit the author, who has equal credentials in physics and theology, with uniquely addressing ultimate origins (the Big Bang) and not just human origins (evolution). Still, his insistence on the literal correctness of Scripture (there's even a little bit of ``counting the begats'') establishes a tone that won't work with many readers. A more theologically sophisticated exposition is Evolution and Creation, edited by Ernan McMullin (Notre Dame Pr. 1985), and George Seielstad's At the Heart of the Web ( LJ 6/1/89) elucidates many of the same themes without invoking divine creation. However, with its thoughtful references encompasing Maimonides to Stephen Jay Gould, Schroeder's book deserves discussion and could become a standard text of ``creation science.'' It is also likely to receive mixed reviews from scientists, a controversy that probably warrants its purchase.-- Gregg Sapp, Montana State Univ. Libs., Bozeman

    Highly recommend

I always suspected that both scientists and certain Christians were blindly arguing over things that were the both sides of the same coin. The scientific and linguistic revelations provided in this book (to a non-scientist) were exciting and made all the sense and difference in the world to my suspicions, proving me right. Scientists who dismiss the Bible are imposing unneeded ignorance upon themselves and their arguments, same for Christians who don't take a look at science because real science is their friend - not the fake science spun off from Darwin's impossible and never-proven (or provable "theory") but cutting edge science like Cosmology, microbiology, quantum physics that make Darwin a joke, a bad joke. This book undergirds the beginning of the opening of your mind to THE truth.

Having met Dr Shroeder in Israel I was anxious to read this book. Unable to find it, Barnes and Noble ordered it for me. Its deep and yet understandable. Renews my faith and wonder of my God. I definitely recommend it.
