the description said this would provide more background to group studies that simply "feelings" about a Bible passage. There was a tidbit of Walton's commentary, but for the most part not worth the time.

This is an extremely valuable resource for understanding Genesis as an ancient document. Much of the miss understanding of Genesis is actually based on lack of accurate information about the historical and cultural setting and the resulting ancient mindset. This resource is a great help in removing common miss understandings of how the ancient Hebrews thought, how they viewed their world, and how they were used to being taught.
