The last book in the Canadian geology series discusses the Yukon Territory which consists of the westernmost part of the Northwest Territories. The Yukon Territory addresses the Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic geological history, very similar in geology to British Columbia. The Yukon Territory discussion begins with a geological overview of the different terranes from Early to Middle Proterozoic ending with the breakup of Rodinia. Paleozoic geology is represented by sedimentary cover occurring throughout the erathem including the Sauk sequences, Delorme, Bear Rock, and Hume-Dawson sequences. The Carboniferous and Permian Periods finish out the Paleozoic era discussion. The Mesozoic Era focuses on the northern basins and the tectonic elements, and tectono-stratigraphic elements. A brief discussion follows on the Mesozoic-Cenozoic boundary before discussing the Tertiary Period.
