    re-recording of entire show

This cd rocks. It's a re-recording of the enitre Gershwin show using musicians like John Pizzarelli. I usually hate when people redo old shows, but this recording is so complete. It even keeps the sound of Fred Astaire's taps when possible. The writing is hilarious. This is a great cd for listening to Ira's lyrics. So many of these songs have been forgotton, it's pretty cool just to have a little more Gershwin to whistle. My favorite on this cd is Little Jazz Bird. If you love Gershwin's broadway shows, you have to hear this. It's amazing.
