In West's adventures, he and his dog Friendly cleverly save the life of a baby turtle that West names George, and they rescue a baby squirrel they call Nadia. George uses a remote control helicopter to seek revenge on an evil crow and finds a secret pond! Along the way, George learns to understand the critical importance of friendship, family and freedom. The bare essentials of life itself!
While helping West with a book report, the animals discover an old map of Sutherlin in a library book. The map doesn't show the farmhouse, but it does show something even better-B.B.'s Gold Mine! Determined to return the kindness West showed them, George and his pals set out to save the farm!

I thought this book was better than Charlotte¿s Web because it was written about a boy like me in fifth grade. It is about a boy named West. He is pretty cool and all, but his family is in big trouble because they are older and don¿t work anymore, but the bank still wants the money, so West asks his pets for help. George was really a cool little turtle. I liked him best because he was sort of the leader of the group. Also I thought the dog Friendly, reminded me a lot of my own dog. He is super fun and helps the turtle and squirrel discover many hidden places around the farm. I don¿t know how many times I dreamed of such things, but it¿s nice to read such a cool adventure novel. The greatest part of the whole book was the great ending. As I read, I saw myself on the river of squirrels, with George and Nadia beside me. I¿m going to give it to my friend to read too!
