This is the second edition of a work that offers a comprehensive review of nutrition in old age. The purpose is to educate practitioners and students of geriatric medicine and those nutritionists with an interest in the area on nutrition in old age. The authors seek to blend scientific observations and the clinical approach to nutrition in old age. The audience is the geriatric medicine community and nutritionists interested in old age. This compact, neat book has extremely useful well-annotated and cited references. In addition, there are several useful mnemonics and algorithms and assessment forms that have great clinical utility. This is a masterful assimilation of nutrition and aging discussing in detail the effects of aging on nutritional states, the pathogenesis of nutritional deficiency states, diseases and nutrition, drugs and nutrition, and assessing nutritional status in older persons.
