KLIATT
The husband-and-wife team who wrote this earned over $100,000 in scholarships when they went to Harvard. Authors of Get Into Any College, they currently write a syndicated newspaper column on getting into college and winning scholarships. The first part of this book is a strategy guide to finding scholarships and putting together a winning application. It includes real-life stories and sidebar quotes and tips, along with advice on acing interviews and finding scholarships online. The second part consists of an annotated scholarship directory, organized by category (e.g., accounting, computer science, religious affiliation) and indexed in various ways—by athletics, state/county of residence, best odds of winning and more. Appendices include a glossary, a resource guide of organizations, and a list of state agencies for student financial assistance. This is a helpful, well-organized guide, with copies of actual letters and essays and practical tips (e.g., write a detailed cover letter to help guide people who have agreed to write recommendations; turn off call waiting while doing a telephone interview). There are warnings to beware of scholarship scams, too. Bulleted lists and lots of bold headings make this easy to read and easy to use. A good resource for all college-bound students. I Won $5,000 Thanks To This Superb Book

My parents still can¿t believe how much I have won. I used this book to not only find the scholarships that I have won but it also showed me how to win. The strategy section is critical and makes this book stand head and shoulders above the rest. Each chapter in the strategy guide section is dead on in its advice and helped we write a better scholarship essay and understand what the judges are looking for in my application. This is a great book and (at least for me) has paid for itself many times over. Good luck to everyone who is just starting on their scholarship search.

    It Worked For Me Too!

I got this book this spring and used it to find over 30 scholarships that fit me. The indexes were easy to use and made finding the right awards easy. But what I liked best about this book is that is also has a lot of strategies and tips to winning scholarships. I have already won over $9,000 for college. This really helped this fall and I will continue to use ¿Get Free Cash For College¿ to apply for more awards and hope to double my winnings next year. I highly recommend this book.

    It Helped Me!

In short, I found this book useful in finding scholarships to apply to and in learning how to write a winning application. You should know that this book has two parts. The first is a strategy guide filled with tips and advice on how to write a winning scholarship entry. The second is a huge directory of scholarships. The indexes are very useful in finding which scholarships to apply to and there are a bunch of them in this book. One that I found worked best for me was the Hobbies/Interests/Talents index. I found many scholarships that I will be applying to and will also use the great advice in the first part fo the book to make sure my application is a winner.
