Just learning that I have BPD, this was the first book I read. It was amazing. During the early chapters It was like I was reading about me. The level of anger, confusion, hopelessness went through the roof for me. But as I continued to read, I settled down. It was like I was going through therapy with Rachel and it had such a calming effect it's unreal. I have a long way to go. Which will be hard work. But now I know there is hope.

I thought this book was great reading! It allowed the reader to understand the personality disorder while also providing a story that is interesting. Since it's a real life story, it is inspiring for people who are battling this terrible disorder. It shows how a person can overcome with a lot of hard work and determination. It was something that stayed with me after reading it and sometimes I quickly forget stories that I've read. It's the kind of book that I might even read again in the future! I would suggest as a good read for anyone, but especially for someone who is close to a person with Borderline Personality Disorder or someone who has the disorder themselves. It would be very inspirational for their recovery!

Get Me Out of Here was a very candid book that gives readers a glimpse into the life of someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. I would recommend this book to anyone because of the how much it teaches you about BPD. The author of this book, Rachel Weiland, did such an amazing job in opening the doors into her life and explaining the daily struggles she faced in her life. She does not hold anything back in her book. She reveals the good, the bad, and the ugly. You literally feel as though you are in her mind going through all of the emotions of the disorder with her. She could not have been anymore open with her struggles than in this book.
After reading this book, I felt that I had a better understanding of this horrible disorder. While I knew before reading this book what BPD was, I never fully understood the symptoms and rollercoaster ride it was. Weiland did not leave out any thought or detail out in this book when it came to what she was feeling in each moment with her struggle. It amazed me how much she changed from the beginning to end and how this was a true story. While some of the things she did in the book disappointed me, she did turn her life around and beat the disorder that was controlling her life. This book should be read by anyone who suffers from BPD or knows someone who suffers from BPD because it will give them a better perspective into what goes on in the mind of someone who has BPD. After reading this book, I realized that the power of family, hope, and determination can overcome anything and completely change a person's life.

i am in a relationship with a BPD male. this is the best book to describe what he feels like. i could not put it down. i have suggested that he read it, but he has declined. rachel, i hope you continue to have a fullfiling life.

It was interesting and eye opening to follow her through her times of turmoil. Her anger and disgust with people sometimes angered me, surprised at her actions and reactions to others and what they had to say. Following her through the years of therapy I was able to better see the ways a mind of a borderline works. Of course this is just one story, but a story that is moving and well worth reading.

Thank you, Rachel, this book hits so close to home! You were able to explain so many feelings and thought I have had... I could see how you spiraled, and I could relate as well... I would encourage anyone with BPD to read this. I also would encourage anyone who is married or related to someone who has BPD, it will help loved ones to understand the sickness a little better. Excellent read!

I read this book straight from cover to cover. I finally felt like i wasn't alone in the daily constant struggles of bpd. I feel like i found my best friend in Rachel Reiland; I suffered with her, I cried with her, and I grew with her. This book is a major lifeline for me everytime i face something unbearable.

I am 31 years old and suffer from BPD. This book was extremely therapeutic. It was also comforting, just for the simple fact that it makes you feel a little less crazy to know that this is real, and there are others out there suffering from. Also, it provides a sense of hope that although not easy, you can come through this disorder on the bright end, and not dead or in constant agony the rest of your life. I believe this disorder is similar to addiction, only in that it is something you will struggle with your whole life. The battle of your black and white way of thinking versus a logical, rational, and realistic thought process. If you suffer from BPD,you will find this book painful, yet comforting, and no matter what - therapeutic. The way she grew up is so astoundingly similar to me I couldn't believe it. The only thing I wished the book would've focused a little more on is some of the compulsions, like sex, alcohol, etc. Maybe that is just because those are some of my issues though and she didn't suffer with them during her actual marriage. The anorexia and other self-destructive behavior is right on point. Thank you Rachel Reiland, for your honesty and courage in writing this memoire. I think it will help more people than you know.

I was recently given the BPD diagnosis from an inpatient stay and was super confused and felt so alone. Reading this book some things sounded as if it were my story. I dont feel so alone and am looking forward to reading other books to gain more insight. BPD is a very tough illness and day to day life isnt just a challenge but minute to minute...you never know what you will get. Its rough because others dont understand us suffering and struggling with this illness. Good Read!!

I own this book in paperback, and will soon purchase it as an Ebook. I like it, and need it, that much. I also suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder. I was diagnosed 21 years ago, in a Psych Hospital, after trying to end my life. Reading this book was like reading my life story, almost literally. That scared me at first, and then it comforted me. I really wasn't alone, and there was a way through this nightmare I call my life. I haven't been able to find that dedicated & knowledgable Dr. like Rachel found however. I have been told by 3 doctors that they can't take me on as their patient because they limit themselves to only one or two BPD patients at one time. So I do my best to stay realistic & stable, and my husband is a saint for helping me see when I've started going off the deep end, and pulls me back. This book, however, has given me hope. There is so much more known about this illness today than when I was diagnosed. Thank God. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to know what someone with a mental illness feels, thinks, and faces on a constant basis.

Anyone who is touched by some kind of mental disorder should read this book. It not only connects you to the author, but it gives you ways of coping and understanding yourself as a person. One of the best books I have read.

This book got my attention over the others mostly because it is autobiography. And I am so glad that I chose it. The book is captivating. I cried and laught a lot. I couldn't put it down. It is one of the best books I've read. It is very well written, very informative and very honest. I would recomend it to all the parents and young adults. Rachel, thank you so much. I read this book to understand BPD better and I have to say it was a well-writtin book that helped me better understand the dissorder. I recomend it to anyone reciently diagnosed with BPD or anyone who wants to clearly understant it from a real-life point of view.

I just finished reading this book and I must say that It is the best book ever. I was diagnosed with BPD and I can relate to Rachel 100%. Just like her obsessive relationship with Dr. Padgett reading this book is an obsession. I couldnt put it down for a second. This book is not only educational, but funny too. Its a must read for people who are dealing with their own issues of BPD or for the family or friends of someone with BPD.

As someone diagnosed with BPD, Reiland's book is a lifeline. She is able to describe the constant emotional roller coaster ride that living with BPD is with amazing articulation. In more ways than one, I felt like I was reading my own words, my story. Reiland's book has helped me to better understand myself, my disease and has given me newfounded hope towards healing. I am going to give a copy to my therapist and my parents. Thank you Rachel.
