Lowe, cofounder and executive vice president of Get Motivated Inc., producer of the world's largest business seminars, shares a system for motivating yourself and others based on an eight-year study conducted with more than 100,000 people. Identifying drive as the single greatest key to success in every area of life, the author investigates its origins, concluding that everyone is hardwired with a specific motivational pattern, or DNA, and that anyone can nurture and harness its potential in themselves, their children and co-workers. The author explores the motivational value of money and relationships, and distills lessons from such high achievers as Jerry Lewis, Colin Powell, George Foreman, Joe Montana and Mother Teresa. A substantial section on raising positive, focused children sheds light on the phases of childhood and correlating motivators at each stage. Full of practical tools and techniques (including a useful "Goal Achievement Blueprint"), this refreshing and inspirational book is sure to keep readers on a path to self-realized, self-motivated success. Through years of research and interviews, her team (Get Motivated Inc.) developed a model of motivational "DNA"-the drives, needs, and awards that inspire individuals to succeed. In a Myers-Briggs style, Lowe demonstrates how readers can make the most of their own motivators and those of others. A useful, illuminating way of applying type to understanding oneself; recommended for all public libraries.
Tamara Lowe knocked this one out of the park! Her research is thorough and convincing -- and the bonuses are the best I've ever seen offered anywhere. After reading just a few chapters, I was able to understand my own motivational DNA enough to tackle a goal of losing weight. Using my motivitional style, I lost more weight in two weeks than I did in two months prior to reading her book. Plus, it's been easy! To top it off, I now relate better to my husband, assistant and business partner because I understand what motivates them. Thanks, Tamara, for eliminating a lot of frustration and for enligthening me so I can acheive my dreams.

Once I asked a business person how to motivate people today. He somewhat sarcastically responded..."only the Lord knows."Many of us may have said that under our breath at times. After reading Tamara Lowe's new book, Get Motivated!, I found well-grounded, well-researched strategies for motivating everyone. even yourself more. Tamara and her husband Peter Lowe are known for their best-in-the-nation, dynamic speaker-packed Get Motivated Seminars.Tamara has created a comprehensive guide on how we can find our motivators, and how to find what motivates others. It's very practical, easy to follow, and you can figure out how to do it from the book. Her formula has six motivational ingredients, our motivational DNA... drives (producer, connector) needs (stabilizer, variety), and rewards (internal,, external)These lay the ground work for a skill in motivating yourself and others. She goes into detail in describing the major motivation characters people take on (The Director, The Visionary, The Chief, The Champion, The Supporter, The Relater, The Refiner, The Explorer). What is so outstanding is what you get off her website after you buy the book. There are over a thousand dollars worth of information in the 16 featured bonuses. A Highly exceptional one, in my view, is Living a Life of Purpose, Bonus #16. As a recovered drug addict she shares her story of how she accelerated a 12-step program converting it into a phenomenal one- step program...our inherited powers of life transforming Spirituality. Her five steps to Power in Living a Life of Purpose are well worth the whole thing and worth getting the book just to hear her podcast on it. It's an incredible, under-rated method that will thoroughly transform your existence ....honestly, no over exaggeration here. This is the jewel to make this a precious stone of never ending value to your life. So, the truth of the matter is "the Lord knows" ...the secret Tamara has learned on how to tap the key to never-ending motivation.Believing in the value of Spirituality in Business myself (which Megatrends 2010 says will be the next major trend in business by 2010), you must get on this track with Tamara Lowe and her society-revolutionizing Get Motivated Mission.Dale ShumakerSpirit Savvy Business

I Also Recommend:
I have had the privilege of hearing Tamara Lowe speak at a Get Motivated seminar in my home town last year. She really does know what she is talking about! And the fact that she learned a lot of what she knows as a delinquent on the streets of New Orleans and has become one of the most successful women around rubbing elbows with Colin Powell, Mother Teresa; she has the cred to back up her theories. Her style is casual yet informative; everything is easy to follow no matter what your level of education or understanding of the psychology of motivation. It will help anyone from business owners who want to better relate to their clients to family members who want to better relate to each other. I highly recommend this book!
