Jackie Clark has been a distance runner since she was in 9th grade. As Coach Clark she has coached nearly every sport except cross country and track, but as a runner she ran hundreds of road races, completed five marathons-one of which was the Pike's Peak Marathon in Colorado and she still holds track and field records for both her high school and her college teams.
Recently, she was inducted into the Cornell College sports hall of fame in Iowa. She lives in Arlington, Texas, where she worked as teacher and coach for more than twenty years raising two daughters. She is currently a principal and the owner of a wildly popular tutoring business. Get Up and Go fictionalizes her own story about becoming a runner and her story purposely includes information she believes can help others successfully train for running careers, too.
Jackie is also the author of a survival grammar book titled, Coach Clark's Abibswaaa and she is co-author of the inspirational gift book titled, Running Through Life's Lesson, written with long-time running partner and accomplished attorney-author, Victoria L. Collier.
