Overview

This critically acclaimed book is now revised and totally updated, with expanded appendices of getaway places. A proven program by national experts, this guide helps couples recapture passion and playfulness in their sexual and romantic life.
As Amazon.com's Stephanie Gold said in her review of a previous edition (rated 4.5 stars by customers), "...declare a moratorium on work talk and focus on one another...Age may not be a state of mind, but good sex certainly is, and it's a state that can be recaptured."
"Road-tested" by dozens of couples (whose testimonies and comments appear throughout the book), The Great Sex Weekend program is the erotic equivalent of the weekend golf clinic.
Sociologists Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D. and Janet Lever, Ph.D. coauthored the "Sex and Health" column for Glamour magazine for a decade. Dr. Schwartz--current Relationship Expert for AARP and for perfectmatch.com-- has authored 17 books and is a past president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexualities. Dr. Lever co-hosted the national cable talk show "Women on Sex" and has designed the largest magazine and internet sex surveys ever tabulated.
"How long has it been since you and your partner showered together, made love in a new position, or lingered in bed all morning? If you can't recall, check out The Great Sex Weekend." -Glamour
"What a delicious idea. Rip the list of weekend chores off the refrigerator. Let the grass go un-mowed. Throw this book into your overnight bag, and along with some of the recommended toys, and go." - Playboy
"This book is like battery cables. Everyone should have it handy to jump start their love life!"-anonymous road-tester

Meet the Author

Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D. and Janet Lever, Ph.D. coauthored the "Sex and Health" column for Glamour magazine for a decade. Both appear frequently in national media as experts in intimate relationships and sexuality. Both earned their Ph.D.'s at Yale University and are Professors of Sociology, at University of Washington and California State University, Los Angeles, respectively. Watch for their next book, Perfect Places for Passion (at any age).
Dr. Pepper Schwartz has authored 17 books, including Prime: Adventures and Advice on Sex, Love, and the Sensual Years. She has been the Chief Relationship Expert for perfectmatch.com since it started helping daters meet online. Currently, she serves as AARP's Ambassador for Love and Relationship, writing an online column for aarp.org titled "The Naked Truth." She offers romantic travel advice on the nationally syndicated Peter Greenberg radio show. Dr. Schwartz is a past president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexualities and a charter member of the International Academy of Sex Research.
Dr. Janet Lever, after leading teams of researchers that designed the three largest magazine sex surveys ever tabulated, came to ELLE in 2002 to lead a series of annual surveys hosted on both the health and business sections of msnbc.com. Her Office Sex and Romance Survey, Work, Sex, and Power Survey, "Good Sex" Survey, and Sex and Money Survey are among the largest surveys on these understudied topics. Each of these internet surveys has been reanalyzed for social science, management, health, and medical journals.
