I liked McNally's CRIES OF THE CHILDREN so much, I had to read this one. Wow. This one is about woman on Long Island who moves into a haunted house. The sexy ghost, a sea captain, just won't leave her alone. She is HIS and he is one sexy guy/ghost. If you like paranormal novels, read this one. Highly recommended. A satisfying read.

I could'nt put it down. Waiting for part II. The author kept in suspense. I truly enjoyed this book. It's been a while since I've read a good horror book. Thanks.

This book started out good but then I grew quickly annoyed with the adults livingbin this haunted house; when they finally get themselves together to belive that a murderous ghost is after them, what do they do? Oh yeah, they decide to stay in the house and take their chances! With young children about! Sorry but not believeable at all. I saw one reviewer describe the ghost as "sexy". No. More like annoying, delusional and co- dependant.

Because Crores of the Children was such a good book, I bought two more by the same author...this one and its sequel, Ghost House Revenge. What a waste of money. This one was marginally better than its sequel, but the actions and thoughts of the characters were very phony and unbelievable. I regret buying both books.

Like several of the other reviewers, I was disappointed with this book, albeit my expectations were high since I LOVED McNally's book about the gifted children (title escapes me). Ghost House was more simplistic and not as intriguing. I believe this was one of her earlier books, so obviously she has honed her talent in the ensuing years.
