Overview

This captivating account covers everything from high-tech gadgetry like infrared thermometers and EMF detectors to nonscientific tools such as dowsing rods and ouija boards. As the capital of the Hoosier State, Indianapolis offers numerous sites of criminal activity, suicides, disturbed remains, horrific fires, and tragic accidents, providing hundreds of opportunities for ghost hunting.
Investigators explore eerie locations such as the Central State Mental Hospital, a facility that is reportedly the most actively haunted place in the state. Other locales include the legendary House of Blue Lights. Before it was demolished, it was often visited by local teens pumped with adrenaline and eager to prove their bravery. For them, climbing the iron fence and taking a dip in the glowing blue pool was a rite of passage. Now the area remains a green space that offers beautiful wildlife by day and frightening spectral visions by night.
Lorri Sankowsky and Keri Young are the former codirectors of the Indianapolis chapter of Indiana Ghost Trackers, a prominent paranormal investigation group in the Indianapolis area. Together they have investigated many famous ghostly locations and have also organized and guided ghost tours. For these two women, this book came after many years of researching and exploring haunted locations throughout their region.

Highly recommended for any novice ghost enthusiast!

I absolutely love this book. I have met these ladies and they are absolutely astonishing. Each story they tell is so captivating. They went to great lengths to find out the complete history of each place they visited. They give you a history of each site before telling you about their experience. Many of their experiences are as riveting as the history they uncover. I hope these ladies continue their search to uncover haunted places and write another book to tell us about them.

This book was absolutely one of the best ones of its kind I have

This book was absolutely one of the best ones of its kind I have ever read! It is so well-researched and well-written. I have never had the privilege of meeting the authors, but I was a member of the Evansville chapter of IGT many years ago. We all have some interesting stories to tell about our state, but these ladies have elevated the genre to new heights. Well done and well worth the read!!
