Wiggins, her boss in Heaven's Department of Good Intentions, knows that Bailey Ruth Raeburn (Merry, Merry Ghost, 2009, etc.) means well. Even though she's often in trouble, he sends her back to her hometown of Adelaide, Okla., to protect Kay Clark, who's visiting The Castle, the magnificent home of the wealthy but troubled Hume family. Bailey Ruth arrives just in time to shove Kay out of the way of a huge pot that's apparently been pushed from a balcony. Ostensibly there to write a book on Jack Hume, the love of her life, Kay is really investigating his fatal fall down a staircase, which she suspects is murder. At first Kay believes Bailey Ruth is a figment of her imagination, but once convinced she exists, she grudgingly lets the new arrival pose as her assistant. This gig gives the fashion-obsessed ghost a chance to change from one outfit to another while investigating a long list of suspects that includes Jack's sister Evelyn; his sister-in-law Diane; clairvoyant Laverne Phillips and her husband; Diane's son Jimmy; Shannon Taylor, daughter of Margo, the Hume housekeeper; gallery owner Alison Gregory; and neighbors Gwen and Clint Dunham. At length Bailey Ruth realizes that Jack found something wrong when he returned home after years away. Now it's up to her to unearth the motive for his murder.

Have u guys ever read the book Ghost in Trouble by Carolyn Hart. It is an outstanding book and I recommend this book to any avid reader. The book will keep you to on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. This book is good if you like a good mystery. The author has a nice way of describing what the ghost thinks for example “I lounged on a deck chair, comfortable in an orange polka dot bikini. A breeze fluttered the brim of my wide white floppy hat.” You should read this book it’s a very god book. The writing style of this other in the plot of the story is descriptive yet it’s interesting. She tells the story in first person limited but she also talks in the third person point of view. Her story is a very interesting story. The suspense level in this book is not very high it would give it a Five or a six. The plot of this story develops slowly in the first four chapters but after that then it picks up and it gets more interesting. “Would Margret have attempted black mail?” This is a part in the climax were they are trying to find out who tried to kill the girl and who killed Mr. Hume. This story isn’t an informative story. This story is more meant to entertain people. This book is like having to stay on your twos in a soccer game. You would stay on the edge of your seat from start to finish but at points the story becomes confusing and boring. Once you get what they mean in the book then it unwinds and gets much more interesting. This is a fictional book and it’s a great buildup of the plot. Exposition is detailed with the descriptions of heaven for example: “the light of heave isn’t a burning sensation like the sun.” The characters are very descriptive such as the places the ghost visits. The events sound like if they were played in real life like if there was a point in time in which this happened. There is the killer then there are the good people and the innocent people in this story and there is the person that tries to change everything for the good of the people. One example of the characters is when the GHOUST of Bailey Ruth Raeburn is describing an old friend but she says that she looks like if she is 20 even though she is 50. “Virginia was always pretty and kind and sweet, good-natured, pathetic drunk.” Setting of the story was very descriptive there were a lot of elements in this book like imagery. The resolution of this book was very interesting. The plot is a very dynamic setup this is a must read. This book is as good as the movie of the lion king. It’s a must read. This is a must read. To find out the ending you must read it. If you are an avid reader you should read this book. This book is great it is as good as many movies and books. Add this book to your collection and be amazed. You will love this book I guaranty it.

Bailey Ruth has a wonderfully comic way of getting information from the people of her town to solve the mystery! Her way of phasing in and out of other's eyesight is something I wish I could do at times. Great read!

Following the death of Kay's former boyfriend Jack Hume, she goes to his family estate the Castle to pay her respects. However, while she is visiting the family, a large vase crashes near her almost hammering Kay. Bailey, as Kay's "assistant", Francie de Sales, investigates who is trying to harm her employer and why while ignoring heavenly operating procedures for earthly visits, which she knows makes her boss Wiggins' halo red with ire. When she and Bailey begin to believe Jack did not just accidentally fall as reported, but was murdered, like a dog with a rawhide bone they chew on the clues while intensifying their inquiry.
The third heavenly ghost whodunit (see Ghost at Work and Merry, Merry Ghost) is an entertaining paranormal whodunit starring a delightful optimist heroine who is more optimist than the Little Engine That Could. Bailey Ruth believes rules even divined from heaven need to be bent (Wiggins would accuse her of breaking them) if the on the ground scenario demands it as she is the field operative. With a strong investigation by the two amateur sleuths, sub-genre readers will relish the antics of the heavenly heroine who is all "Hart".

If you have read the first two books in this series and enjoyed them, you will like book #3. Caroyln Hart is a great writer specially in the areas she chooses to write about. Ms C. Hart books are always fun to read and at times you'll get a good laugh in the process.

I really found this cute and fun. The idea of a ghost helper and an otherworldly agency already holds charm, but the characters really bring it to life. Bailey is a funloving fashionista from the other side, well meaning but often in over her head and unthinkingly breaking the rules. Then finessing her way back into Wiggins good graces. He was also great fun, a rule follower occasionally breaking them on accident thanks to the trouble Bailey causes for him, yet they manage to get the job done.
The wide cast of other characters were intriguing as all were done in depth, motivations and personalities varied and interesting. You really had no idea up till the last just who the murderer would be, among other secrets. Friendship, love, betrayal, family, murder and the afterlife, all in a neat little package.

from beginning to end bailey ruth keepsyou focused on the crime at hand, as she introduces each of the suspects, the plot thickens. the ghostly mischief and sincerity mix so beautifully. the book is both, fun and intriguing. a must to be read.

There were a few parts that I had trouble concentrating on. I found a couple of events to be confusing. I would give this book three stars.
