Separate. Autobiographical. Short Stories.

An ominously good read! Imagine that you are seven years old – a mere child – alone in the house after your parents leave for work. The clock on the mantle ticks loudly, ominously counting off the seconds. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

Quite suddenly, your ears are pricked by the sound of chains dragging heavily across the floor and down the long hallway of your parent’s home. The chains clank and tangle as they cross the threshold from The Beyond. Terror surges through your body, you are barely breathing. Your knees grow weak. Your vision sharpens. You gaze down the dark hallway leading to your parent’s bedroom as a translucent image begin to materialize. You recognize the manifestation as your grandfather who has passed over. Shrinking away from the vision you watch in fascination as the specter roams the house, one room at a time, through the living room and each of the bedrooms. It is seemingly unaware of your existence – as though it is on a plane wholly separate from yours. Has the spirit of your grandfather come back to reassure himself that all he has left behind is secure? How soon will he depart, and release you from the terror of the possibility that he has left open the portal to the World Beyond?

On your sixteenth birthday you hold the clammy fingertips of your classmates at a slumber party séance, having waited until midnight to summon the power of The Ouija. Your friends gasp as the candles that throw shadows across the room flicker and the lens into The Other World begins to sweep across the board as the doors to your closet begin to slide open.

In the crypt-like quiet that follows midnight you watch from across your room as the doorknob of your bedroom door turns, almost imperceptively. It creaks ever so slightly, rattling in its casing. You know that it is not a human presence that has come a'callin' – a human would most certainly have been caught by the alarm system.

You don’t think these occurrences could ever happen? Think again. Because they do happen; and they have happened to me. I remember each incident vividly.

Ghost Stories And The Unexplained, is a collection of contemporary true ghost stories that recount my own experiences with The Unexplained supernatural occurrences in my life. Seven Stories. 11,000 words.

Ghost Stories and The Unexplained, is a truly gripping collection of the 7 chapters each of which describes instances when The Beyond crosses over to the world of humans. The collection opens with a chapter that sets the leitmotif for the rest of the stories...too dark, too dangerous and too full of disturbing images. I made the mistake of reading it before bed and I was afraid to fall asleep! I give it five stars.

The Pages Nearly Flipped Themselves! It was weird!

One of the most chilling family histories I have ever read. I noticed that this collection of short stories was gaining momentum as a Kindle Best Seller, but I wanted my copy in color for the cover jacket.

This best selling Kindle author weaves the most incredible stories of Banshees chasing children in her great-grandmother's Ireland; Poltergeists terrorizing her family in the chill of the night. I could not put this one down.

Highly recommended for a scare that will stay with you!

    Chilling! I'm Convinced!

Ghost Stories And The Unexplained que'd on my Facebook page over the weekend and, I'll admit it, I was intrigued.

Subtitled 'True Events..' and with Halloween on the eve...I settled in to read this collection of seven stories of supernatural occurrences that have happened in this author's life.

I was startled! Could the author have grown up in a house so overcome with the comings and goings of spirits and occult events? I read that she is only now revealing her experiences because of the stigma against those who claim to have seen ghosts and experienced unexplained phenomena - I would believe that.

The detail of Ms. Hill's weave of woeful tales is spell-binding. From "banshees who fly through the forested lands of Ireland, to poltergeists who torment the bereaved", Emily Hill doesn't miss a nuance in creating the perfect picture into the Realm Beyond and The Unexplained.

A thrilling chill, from an author whose work I follow.
