Ghosts Beneath Our Feet by Betty Ren Wright is a very good book. The author wrote the book really well including fast pace hopeful endings and realistic detail. In this book there are a few main characters; Katie, Joan, Jay, Skip, and Uncle Frank. Katie is a normal, curious kid who likes to be involved in mysteries, Joan is Katie¿s best friend who never listens to her mother, Jay is Katie¿s older step-brother who thinks he doesn¿t belong in their family, Skip is Jay¿s best friend who always seems to get Jay in trouble and likes mischief, and Uncle Frank is a close family friend of Katie¿s family. The first day Katie gets to Uncle Frank¿s town she hears something under the ground but no one believed her, a few other times she believes she sees a ghost but still no one believes her. Joan¿s grandmother is the only person that believes Katie and she says that the ghosts are knackers which were miners who died when a mine collapsed. Joan¿s grandmother says she needs to listen to what the ghosts say. Now the only problem is she needs to make everyone else believe her too. Kids who like mysteries would probably like this book because it is hard to put this book down because you want to know what is going to happen next. This book is similar to all of the books in the Betty Ren Wright series. I liked this book because I like mysteries. I like mysteries because I like to solve them while I¿m reading the book. I liked this book a lot because it kept you on your toes because you never know what will happen next and it is hard to figure out while you are reading it. Over all the book was a very well-written story.
