Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Susie Wilde
Halloween is the biggest kid holiday there is! But for babies and toddlers, it can be terrifying. Older kids can still have chills and thrills, but this book will also give their younger brothers and sisters the treat of feeling safe. Schwartz, one of the greatest ghost story tellers in America, retold stories for young children. For beginning readers, Ghosts! is out in paperback too. These seven ghost stories are funny, spooky, easy to read, and tell a good tale.

Just the right amount of 'scary'

My 5 yr. old grandson loved having me read him this little book of ghostly stories -- a few, I worried, might be a bit too morbid for his age group, but the colorful, cartoonish illustrations that come with each story helped greatly to soften the lingering scary aspects. I would highly recommend the Schwartz series of books on any subject matter, but this one, especially, for Halloween celebrants in the 5 to 6 yr. old age group.

    Ghost, ghost..everywhere

I bought this for my Grandaughter who just turned seven. She loves the book and loves the fact that she can read it to herself whenever she wants. There are different stories about ghost...singing ghost, toast eating ghost...just a delightful little spooky (but not too spooky!) fun book.

    The Grandkids LOVED it...ages 4 & 6

I don't know how many times I've read this book to them over the past month! Countless times. The stories stir their imaginations yet don't make them lose sleep at night....which is a good thing! :-)

    A Ghostly Read

The book I am reviewing is Ghosts written by Alvin Schwartz. This book is about ghosts. A problem that occurs in this story is a cat wants a girl to be friends, but the cat is a ghost. I¿d recommend this book to my friends. Other books by this author include over 200 titles that include mysteries adventure stories, poetry, historical fiction, and humor.
