Meet the Author

GIADA DE LAURENTIIS is the Emmy award-winning star of Food Network's Everyday Italian, Giada at Home, and Giada in Paradise; a judge on Food Network Star; a contributing correspondent for NBC's Today show; and the author of six New York Times bestselling books. She attended the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris and worked at Wolfgang Puck's Spago restaurant before starting her own catering company, GDL Foods. Born in Rome, she grew up in Los Angeles, where she now lives with her daughter, Jade.

Though this book provides many healthy recipes it's not like Giada's usual items (which it wasn't supposed to be). In this book many of the recipes use unique healthy ingredients that I will never use or keep on hand so it's hard to say I would make many of the items. It's a refreshing perspective on her cooking but don't expect it to be like any of the other cookbooks she has out. If you are a big fan add it to your collection but if you are really looking for recipes, I wouldn't buy it.

Excellent book. Very practical and much appreciated. Most people are poisoning themselves with a SAD &quot;Standard American Diet.&quot; This book helps. I also recommend watching &quot;Forks over knives&quot; and &quot;fat sick and nearly dead&quot; on netflix.
