Jeroen Steenbeeke (1983) is a fantasy writer from the Netherlands, and has been creating fantasy stories since the early nineties. Despite several attempts to write novels since then, it wasn't until 2011 that he released his first novel Gift of the Destroyer.

At night, Jeroen fights aliens, the Borg, goblins and carnivorous soup. You can read all about these dreams in his latest work The Troll Warriors of Sheepbane.

    Interesting

I highly enjoyed this book and found it an easy read. Though not the most original book, i have not enjoyed a book in quite a while as much as this one. Highly recommend it to lovers of fantasy as a weekend read.

I thought this book was very original and had many things of interest in it. I would like to know more about the earlier civilizations in a later series maybe?
I went looking for other books by this author and found them, but there was no overview or any information on these books at all. I am a little hesitant to spend money on an unknown quantity. I know this isn't about this story, but I already said I loved the book. LOL

    more from this reviewer

    Just average

The characters weren't exactly believable. I mean, her fiance is killed early on but she still goes on a quest with the guy that did it? Story line was interesting but just didn't develop enough for me to bother reading the next one. The ending seemed rushed and to me and anti-climatic.

I read quite a bit of fantasy novels and while this book wasn't great, it was a short read (247 pages) and at least I didn't have too much time tied up in it.

    Not bad, but stilted

Good storyline, but stilted and repetitive language got in the way of enjoying this fully. Won't be reading the rest of the series.

    Loved every page

This series was so fun to read! Highly recommended for anyone who loves magic and adventure. I loved all 3 books but the first was my favorite. The author creates great characters that you really get involved with. And unlike most magic action/adventure books I've read, he doesn't bore you with pages upon pages of describing scenery as filler. Just a really fun, enjoyable read.
