Overview

New Orleans lounge singer Tally Addison has a problem: her employer at The Blue Note is selling the business, and Tally's desperate to buy the sultry jazz club. But how's she going to land the cash? Simple as black bottom pie.

Tally's in possession of an authentic Gabriel Dampier treasure map, penned by the great pirate himself. Or at least she's holding a tattered portion of it. Her brother ripped off most of it by mistake...and now he's missing.

The only person Tally trusts to find her brother--and her lucrative map--is sexy P.I. Christien Castille. But can she trust herself when the dark-eyed Cajun heartbreaker is near?

Meet the Author

Karen was a bibliophile at a young age. While other children were dragging around well-worn and well-loved blankets and teddy bears, Karen was dragging around books. In all shapes, sizes, and colors, they were her constant companions. It's no wonder that she is now writing her own books.

Karen read her first romance novel, the The Princess Bride by William Goldman, in high school. After reading about Buttercup and her love Karen was hooked, and moved on to The Sheik, a well-worn copy that was given to her by her Valentino-loving grandmother. These books opened up the world of true love to Karen, bringing with it all the excitement, joy, and heartache contained in the human heart. Karen found out that romance writers know how to make love grow.

Coming from the conservative state of Vermont, it surprised Karen that she loved creating hot, sexy heroes, and the strong women who tame them. But beneath all that conservatism beat the heart of a true rebel! Karen has escaped to culturally diverse Northern Virginia and is doing her best to raise two daughters, each a rebel in their own right. Between her roles as an administrative assistant for a university dean and single working mother, it's an adventure for Karen to find time to get in a few hours of writing amidst the mundane chores and reigning chaos of everyday life.

Karen asks readers to hook themselves to her bandwagon and hopes they enjoy reading her stories as much as she enjoys writing them. But she suggests you don't drag them around--it's murder on the covers.

In New Orleans, Tally Addison lives in a Court du Chaud townhouse built by her ancestor pirate Gabriel Dampier about two centuries ago. She believes her relative buried booty in the home that she now owns. Tally hopes to find the lost treasure so that she can use it to purchase the Blue Note where she performs. --- Private investigator Christien Castille offers to help her find the buried treasure. She accepts his offer with the stipulation that their relationship remain platonic. Christien wants more, but accepts her terms as he hopes that buys him time to change her mind about them. Neither is aware that Gabriel has an interest in her falling in love. If she can break the family curse that makes the recipients always choose blind ambition over love, Gabriel will be able to finally move on. --- This fevered paranormal investigative romance is a fun story that leaves the audience believing in ghosts. The key triad seems very real whether they are of the specter world or the mortal realm as the humans fall in love seeking her ancestor¿s loot while said relative plays matchmaker from beyond. GIVE ME FEVER is an entertaining often amusing and highly spirited romantic romp. --- Harriet Klausner
