the finest record of an obedient servant of God

there are many books written about Gladys Alward, fortunatly we have a book written by Gladys Alward herself. I don't like to read books. I don't read books at all. but I could not put this book down; and I have read it many times. I have also purchased as many copies as I could afford to give to others. If I could, I was able, I would give one to every child in Compassion Internation and to every Bible school in the world. Every true believer feels inadequate and scared to step out on their own. Reading Gladys Alward's book shows that with God's help anyone could do anything. She had no special qualifications, in fact she lacked all the qualifications that the China Missionary Society required. Yet she obeyed God and went, and there are many christians today because she went. Everyone who feels like they lack talent, ability to learn a foreign language, lack of support financially, will find inspiration reading this anointed book.

WOW! What a fabulous TRUE story!!!

This book was a "can't put it down" true story of an amazing woman who's faith in God led her heart into life threatening danger again and again. This unlikely hero will be number one on my list for years to come. My daughter's book club is reading it and ALL loved it!!!

    Excellent book.

My daughter read a short story about Gladys Aylward this year in school. She talked so much about "Ai-weh-deh" that I decided to learn more about this missionary. She is a very inspiring woman. This book does an excellent job of relaying her story.
