Anthony Dikembe, supervisor at Laurentian (diamond)Mine in South Africa, is tortured. His brutalized dead body washes up on a South African beach. Anthony was actually an FBI agent working with agents Jackson Hanley and Allen Saifee to get inside the workings of Laurentian Mines where the mine owners are into illegal diamond trafficking. Meanwhile, back in the United States, in Lawrence, Kansas, attorney Megan Davis is getting back on her feet after her beloved husband's death and takes on dubious client Jeremy Waldoch who owns a local security firm, DMW. Jeremy has a habit of giving generous gifts, mostly jewelry fashioned of expensive, exquisite diamonds, to women in his firm. Now, one of them, Kathleen Landry, is suing Waldoch and Megan Davis agrees to take on his case. But when she talks Finn Garber, once a master thief and now a law student, into helping her and when she meets with FBI agent Hanley, Megan is aware that Waldoch's interests run to illegal trafficking of South African diamonds. She learns that he is a onetime FBI informant on illegal sales of South African diamonds but that he has gone bad. Will Megan protect her client or will she work with Finn and Hanley to uncover why Waldoch is running more than diamonds out of his "Glass House"? Patrick Reinken has created in this novel, "Glass House", a brilliant thriller with believable characters both good and bad, good dialogue, and fabulous action that keeps the plot moving perfectly to the story's end. Patrick Reinken intersperses the action chapters with information on the history of diamond mining. He has taken diamond mines, glass houses, and a cast of unforgettable characters and written a thriller that is second to none.
