Meet the Author

Ali A. Abdi is Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies, University of Alberta. His academic articles have appeared in scholarly jourbanals such as Comparative Education, Compare: A Jourbanal of Comparative Education, McGill Jourbanal of Education, Jourbanal of Black Studies, Jourbanal of Educational Thought, International Education and Jourbanal of Postcolonial Education. Abdi is the author of several books and co-edited collections, including Education and Development in South Africa (2002), Politics of Difference: Canadian Perspectives (2004), Issues in African Education: Sociological Perspectives (Palgrave MacMillan, 2005), African Education and Globalization: Critical Perspectives (2006) and Educating for Human Rights and Global Citizenship (2008).

Dip Kapoor is Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies, University of Alberta. His articles have been published in jourbanals such as Convergence, Adult Education & Development, New Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, Development in Practice, Jourbanal of Postcolonial Education, and guest edited a special collection, “International Perspectives on Education and Decolonization,” of International Education (37, 1, Fall 2007). Kapoor has contributed to the edited collections: Contexts of Adult Education: Canadian Perspectives (2006); and Global Perspectives on Environmental Adult Education (2004).
