    News of Death Saddens

I was distressed to read that Freyda Epstein is no longer with us in body although her spirit lives on. Globalullabies is a favorite of Early Childhood educators. It is a wonderful tool for naptime, countless children hear these multicultural songs. It is wonderful to hear them sing along in a multitude of languages. Freyda thank you so much for sharing your gift.

    A tribute to Fredya

This is not a review. It is a tribute to Freyda who, it is reported, died in a head-on collision this week. I was exposed to her music when she was a member of Trapezoid, in Elkins, WV. The group was a miraculous blend of joy and talent. Freyda's vocal and instrumental talents were, for me, unique. I don't expect to encounter many such talents during my lifetime. I only wish all of recordings she was involved with could make it to a digital format. You can hear Freyda with Trapezoid's other female star, Loraine, on this recording. What a rare gift they were together.
