    Highly recommended

Dorothy Garlock is in top form with this book. Danger, violence, sexy men. Impossible bossy men. Tenderness and confusion and sex.

    Good book, but not great

Glorious Dawn was a good book. The story was rich and full of detail, but the characters were not fully developed. The only characters that were fully developed was Mack Macklin and Johanna. The author did a wonderful job in telling the story of the atrocities that Mack committed. She did a wonderful job in telling the story of how Johanna was being affected by the hatred that surrounded her. She did an okay job in telling the story of Jacy and Luis' love, but she didn't spend that much time on their story. I have a problem with how Johanna fell in love with Burr. He was extremely mean to her. I understood that he was mean because he was scared of falling in love. The author just didn't spend much time in explaining why Johanna fell in love with him, because Burr was hardly ever kind to her. I saw glimpsing of kindness from Burr, but not with Johanna it was with his family. Maybe if the author would have written what Burr was feeling at certain moments in the story, or allowed him to show Johanna his gentler side then I would understand why she feel in love with him.
