I’m so glad I got a chance to read this.  If anyone I know is diagnosed with Celiac disease, a wheat allergy or gluten sensitivity, this is the first book I’ll recommend.  The author has a clear and thorough style that demystifies the world of gluten-free.  He summarizes the current, most informative research about how gluten and wheat affect our digestion.  The most elucidating thing about the book is that the history of eating gluten is relevant to all of us.  The book offers lots of helpful advice for becoming gluten-free, as well as a list of on-line resources to further one’s understanding.  Also, check out the recipes, from simple for the busy celiac to complex for those that love time in the kitchen, a great selection!

If you're interested in living a gluten-free life, you've got your work cut out for you. But thanks to John Chatham, most of the heavy lifting
has been done and the results can be found in his book "Gluten Free Life Style."
Those who suffer from celiac disease, gluten intolerance or wheat allergies now have a roadmap to guide them in the direction of
what foods to eat, what ingredients to avoid, and how to identify gluten in non-food items.
Chatham's writing style is conversational and to-the point, so you can read through the entire book in an hour or two. The list of online
gluten resources will save you time, and the allowed/not allowed ingredients list will help you avoid hidden gluten in packaged products.
The best sections of the book are the sample meal plans, gluten-free recipes and diet cookbook.

Gluten Free Diet Lifestyle: A Health Guide, Shopping & Home

Gluten Free Diet Lifestyle: A Health Guide, Shopping & Home Tips, 66 Easy Recipes, by John Chatham, is a comprehensive guide to living a gluten-free lifestyle. There were interesting facts like humans only being grain-eaters for 10,000 years compared to the 2.5 million years before that when no rice, corn, barley or oats were consumed. The book also resolves the lifestyle change issues related to a gluten-free life, such as food substitutions, family strategies, and more. I read the book with curious open-mindedness, and it delivered a plethora of information about gluten and its effects on obesity, diabetes, and other medical ailments that are in a dramatic increase in America today. I have recently contemplated whether eating less gluten would increase my own health. After reading this book, I feel confident that I can begin making some easy life and diet changes which will create an exponential augmentation of my vitality.

When going a gluten-free diet, John Chatham’s book is an educating and interesting guide on how to do so. He tells us which foods should be avoided, which items, edible or not, contain gluten, and how a gluten-free lifestyle does not have to be intimidating nor complex. His shopping guide, resources, and of course, the recipes, all show the reader that a gluten-free diet may not only be healthier, but also simpler than one would expect.

"This book is a great introduction into a gluten-free lifestyle. You can admit, our first encounter in food is flavor and taste. Those gluten additives are in mostly many of the everyday foods we love and are delicious! However, Mr. Chatham has outlined gluten free meal guides, tasty recipes, strategic steps to take when transitioning, and most importantly what to eat versus what not eat. You will grasp the understanding of what is gluten, be visible to countless resources, and understand its long-term benefit. Good read."

The gluten-free diet lifestyle is an excellent book for anyone making the switch. The book covers why to go gluten-free and gives you support on how to smoothly transition into the change. If you are someone who just wants the facts, it’s in there too. There’s the “no-no” list and the “what you can have” list. I enjoyed the small factoids throughout the book the most. There are also sample meal plans and recipes to help you get started.

Gluten Free Diet Lifestyle: A Health Guide, Shopping & Home

Gluten Free Diet Lifestyle: A Health Guide, Shopping & Home Tips is informative yet it finds a way to overload the reader with information and lacks a clear sense of organization . As with at least one of his other books, Chatham assumes that the reader knows little or nothing about gluten and the risks associated with its consumptions for individuals who are unable to process it in their diet. The author would have done better by the reader if he had put most of this early information into links/references the reader could investigate on their own.

Having a number of friends who have gone glutten-free, I was curious about what the diet entails. I've eaten a number of glutten-free dishes. I have eaten the spread from some very creative dishes that surprised (in a good way) to the flat chewy, pretty gross stale muffin we've all tried. I don't want to hate on the diet without understanding it, but it seemed like it  might not satisfy the foodie in me. However, I like a challenge. So I started the "Glutten-Free Lifestyle." The book has led me to a couple conclusions. 1. It's hard. There's an adjustment period to understanding what this kind of diet needs. 2. It's definitely possible. After reading this and going through all the meal options I'm positive that anyone can handle this. Once you see the wide variety of things you CAN eat, it's easy to get creative and make this diet work. I recommend the cookbook. If nothing else it's a good guide to understanding what a little bit of this lifestyle can do to help you stay healthy.

John Chatham has created an easy to understand yet detailed guide for those living with a gluten sensitivity or allergy. For years, I struggled with symptoms that I could not trace to a definitive cause. On a whim I tried removing gluten from my diet and noticed a drastic decrease in symptoms. If I had been made aware of this book earlier, I could have been living a healthier lifestyle with much less effort. Chatham provides an unbelievable amount of information and recipes without overwhelming the reader. If you have wheat/gluten allergies or sensitivities yourself, or are close to someone who does, this book could be a life-changer.
