Overview

Wheat-free-cooking expert Carol Fenster reveals her time-saving tips and techniques to help cooks put homemade meals on the table in a flash.

In Carol Fenster's gluten-free cooking classes, the most frequently asked question is "How can I get a meal on the table in the least amount of time?" So often, cooking gluten-free means spending hours in the kitchen-making everything from scratch. But now, Fenster reveals all her shortcuts, tips, and timesaving techniques from nearly twenty years as the gluten-free cooking authority. The Quick & Easy principles in this book will get cooks in and out of the kitchen with less fuss than ever before.

In Gluten-Free Quick & Easy, a hot meal makes it to the table without a complicated ingredient list or a lengthy wait. Fenster emphasizes the necessity of "planned-overs"-not "left-overs"- that creatively use elements of one meal in the preparation of another, whether it becomes an ingredient the next day, the next week, or the next month. Recipes for make-ahead baking mixes and techniques to shorten baking times means cooks stay on track. And her comprehensive menu plans and ideas help pull together a week's worth of meals with ease.

Fenster's simple but delicious recipes include favorites like hearty breads, pizzas, and pasta. In less time than ever before, gluten-free cooks can whip up homestyle entrées and side dishes, tasty breakfasts, and elegant desserts for every meal of the day, every day of the week.

    The title says it all

This book was very helpful to me. I was diagnosed with Celiac 4 days before obatining this book. It was one of three and the first one out of the three that I go to for cooking and baking. My family and I have loved everything I have made so far out this book for dinner. It was also very helpful in educating me on how to set up my kitchen and my lunchbox for work.

    Very helpful

I really like this cook book. It has some scrumptious recipes I am excited to try. Unfortunately it isn't designed for the person on a real budget. The ingredients she has are really expensive here. I am trying to buy what I can as I can afford it. I really like the explinations at the beginning of the book. I appreciate how she tells the various ingredients work in a recipe.

    Gluten-free products

This book has been so helpful in learning how and what to fix for meals for my husband. He has celia disease and has been so much better since eating the food listed in this book...I do have some trouble finding some of the things that he can have but with time I am finding ways to fix foods that he can eat with relative ease....Thank you for putting out such a book and I will continue to find more things in there that he can have and also places to find things that he can eat.

There are some killer recipes in here - people have copied many of them for their own use

Some excellent recipes. Very easy to make. I love this cookbook and refer to it often. I have given it as a gift several times as well.

    Nice Little Book

Have only tried one recipe from this book, and it was enjoyed. Was a bit taken aback by the sodium content of many of the recipes in this book. Thinking of just not adding the salt when I can to help reduce the levels of salt per serving. Overall I would say that this book will be okay and will be of use to me and my family.

Ya can't get there from here!

The content - information and recipes - is great. However the navigation is terrible. The Contents breaks it only into broad sections and the Index, where all the recipes are listed individually, doesn't have links or page numbers. An otherwise great cookbook puts way too much burden on the reader and puts us e-readers at a disadvantage.

This book has been a tremendous help in launching me into better

This book has been a tremendous help in launching me into better tasting, moist baking. I have solely used this book for her Basic Flour, Cake Flour, Muffin Mix Recipes. Carol has taught me the importance of the flours used in a good gluten-free flour mix. I've been able to bake everything from her blueberry muffins, bundt cakes, pancakes, to coffee cakes with rave reviews from the non-gluten-free family members!
I only give this book a 4 star because she relies on dairy products in many of her recipes.
