The innovative sound and style delivered by Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers has endeared them to many a gospel music follower. Go Get Your Life Back, their follow-up project to the top-selling tri-city4.com, was more than two years in the making. Not to mess with a successful formula, this collection once again features Lawrence and his talented aggregation of singers effectively mixing together live and studio tracks without disrupting the continuity of the musical flow. The project's opening track, "The Best Is Yet to Come," will remind fans of the choir's smash hit, "Never Send the Righteous," with its heavy-hitting beats. Making guest appearances are contemporary gospel great Walter Hawkins, who gives a landmark performance on the heartfelt ballad "Seasons." Former Sounds of Blackness vocalist Ann Nesby doesn't disappoint either with her performance on the project's title track. Giving the project a nice urban balance are the tracks "I Can't Complain," "Miracle," "Keep Blessing Me," and "Gonna Be Alright." Those with an ear for high-powered choir music will thoroughly enjoy this one.

I was first introduced to the sounds of Donald Lawrence through the CD "Great Men of Gospel." When I heard the cut,"If I Can Say A Word," the sweet fragrance of the Holy Spirit echoed by way of the melodious voice of Donald Lawrence touched me beyond measure. There was something about his singing, that made me just want to sit and listen. His voice is so soothing...a lot like a gentle breeze after a very hard and tumultous rain. And then, I watched Juanita Bynum's wedding, and heard this group singing "Bless Me." I had no idea who they were, but as I was walking pass the television, I heard the name Tri-City Singers. The next day, I went to the Christian Book store, called THE VINE and preceded to ask the owner about the Jabez Prayer CD. He said that he didn't have it any more and that he was out of it. And then my eyes ran across, this blue CD with this chocolate brother on it. I saw the name Donald Lawrence and TRI-CITY Singers... I turned on the back of the CD and saw the selection "Bless Me." WOW!!!! I was simply estatic!!! I played it for the congregation which I am a member of and the entire Church service that day, took on a whole new life form. THe music of this gifted man, just ushers in the presence of Almighty God. But wait! it gets better. On this past Sunday(6/22/03), during my morning meditation. I played cut # 2 on "GO GET YOUR LIFE BACK" and the spirit of the LORD said to me, play that selection when you minister today. Well, I was confused, because I had preached last Sunday, and I hadn't been told to preach again this Sunday. Well, during service, the Assistant Pastor, asked me to read a scripture for the offering and to pray. As I stood up, the Spirit of the LORD said, NOW, play, "SEASONS." And man, oh man!!! WOW!!!! I have never seen God move like HE moved during that offering. I played that song, and the annointing just made its way in our service, and I tell you, nobody left out the same. My pastor's wife purchased the CD and other members are seeking to purchase it. I took it to prayer meeting with me tonight and played it, and as I played it and prayed for people, the LORD came in and began to bless the people in abundance. I don't know, what was on Donald Lawrence's mind when the LORD gave him that song to write, "SEASONS," but I tell you...I am yet basking in that annointing from that song. Donald Lawrence's voice is silky smooth laced with the heavenly presence of GOD's annointing. The words minister, and the voice is calming. Thank you so much for sharing a much needed gift, for such a time as this. There are many singers out in the world, and by far, there are many annointed singers out, but you, Minister Donald, excel them all. I would like to know your tour schedule(TRI-City Singers) ...and to see if you are coming to Orlando, Florida, or anywhere in Florida. As a matter of fact, my church would love to have you come to our church, and/or join us on our Empowerment Cruise in November, as we set sail from Port Canaveral. Again, thank you for sharing your gift. May GOD continue to richly bless you and yours........

This is the one CD that never leaves my CD player. It is inspirational from beginning to end. Seasons, is a beautiful work that reminds us that God is everywhere and always around us. The Bless Me tracks (5 and 6) combine to form my favorite piece on this album. The emotions that fill these tracks are overwhelming and encourage me to pursue my own dreams. Put this together with Go Get Your Life Back, the title track, and I am fully inspired to take back my life, and live my own dreams, instead of living in servitude of the dreams of others.
