Even though summer is nearly over, this book has many ideas for outdoor activities that are divided among the four seasons. The author encourages adults "to go outside as a family and have an adventure that will last a lifetime." I recognized some of the activities from camps I've attended and know they are time tested for maximum fun. The ideas will be fun for a wide range of ages and take very little equipment. Many things use items found in nature during a particular season such as snow, leaves, seeds, and sand. The author has incorporated many interesting facts into the narrative. The directions are simple and illustrated well. I'll wait anxiously now for pumpkins to ripen so I can try a Pumpkin Totem Pole. 2002, Tricycle Press,
