Overview

Two women who've been through just about everything together are about to find out if there are some things forever friends can't fix...

Annette Goode Davis is a survivor. Life's obstacles have often knocked her down, but she's never stayed there for long. To Annette, it's all about family and old friends like Rhoda O'Toole. And right now, Annette needs all the friends she can get...because her marriage is in big trouble, and she has no idea why...

Lately, Annette's husband Pee Wee barely has the time of day for her. Desperate to regain his affections, Annette goes on a crash diet, gets a makeover, and looks hotter than she has in a long, long time. Everyone notices-except Pee Wee. So when handsome Louis Baines showers her with attention, Annette finds herself embroiled in a full-blown affair and spending money on Louis like there's no tomorrow. But when she learns a terrible secret about her new lover, she realizes she's in way over her head. Soon Annette must face the fact that she may have destroyed the life she loved-and this time, not even Rhoda can help her make things right...

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Hilarious, raunchy soul sistahs Annette Davis and Rhoda O'Toole return in this latest wacky adventure in Monroe's God series (God Don't Play, etc.). This time, Rhoda persuades her 46-year-old BFF to have an affair since Pee Wee, Annette's husband, hasn't touched his newly svelte wife in a year. Pee Wee has cancer, but doesn't tell his wife until he's cured so she's ripe for the picking. Rhoda sees nothing wrong with discreet adultery: she's been having an affair for years with her husband Otis's best friend, Bully Bullard. Sexy caterer Louis Baines, who's 30, woos Annette with all the right moves, and Annette finds him irresistible until it turns out he's after her money. Another extreme annoyance is Rhoda's 19-year-old Naomi Campbell look-alike daughter, Jade, who wreaked havoc in Annette's life by trying to steal Pee Wee and has come home with a Mexican hottie who chickens out on marrying her. Monroe's never better than when she's writing about Annette and Rhoda, an outrageous Lucy & Ethel–style African-American comedy duo who are always getting in trouble. (Sept.)

    WONDERFUL

Mary Monroe is an excellent author. I have most of her books and I have NEVER been disappointed with her books. The story line drew me in from the first page. I read it in 2 days only because I started late.

    Mary Monroe Does it Again!!!

Mary Monroe does it again with her latest novel, "God Aint Blind." This was definitley a page turner. I finished the book in a day and a half. I love how animated all of the characters are. The way that she describes how Scary Mary looks in her old age is HILARIOUS. Although it's not my favorite of the "God" series, it's still a good read! Usually someone dies in the series, but surprisingly no one does in "God Aint Blind." I'm ready for the next book to come out-I can't wait.

    I'm done

Loved the first two of this series. This one seems like it was writtrn by a different author not nearly as good. Also this onr is fill of obsenity and profanity. This will be that last for me.

    AAMBC Book Reviews

I absolutely love Mary Monroe but it is not a secret to say that this book fell off the radar completely. Let's take a look at the series. God Don't Like Ugly, God still don't like Ugly, and God don't Play. ALL great reads and I absolutely love the thriller ride. However I am so confused by this book. Annette is back and for the first three installments she had been considered ugly and fat, and dark. Even though she found love in a child hood friend the fact was she looked a certain way. It was interesting that I felt I read a totally different character this time. No mention of her lack of looks instead it made it seem like she was a banger in the looks department. My point it the book lacked balance and a point. I am sorry to say that I pretty much guessed what was gonna happen. O many parts in the book got boring, and I wanted to put it down a few times. However, I felt Monroe's writing was different this time like she wrote differently or if it wasn't her. I felt disconnected to this book because the writing was way worse than the others and the bad language was sometimes unneeded. The book lacked a good ending as well to me. So I am guessing there is a next part to the series. I was just disappointed with this one. It kind of messed up the series to me.

    God Ain't Blind

Honestly it wasn't as good as the first one but, it was good enough to keep the story going. I was looking forward to the fourth book and it was worth the wait. I can't wait until the next one comes out!! I love the friendship between Rhonda and Annette.

    Huge disappointment

God Ain't Blind was the biggest disappointment I have read in a long time. Mary Monroe is one of my favorite authors, and the 2 previous books in this trilogy were outstanding. This one, however, left a lot to be desired. The storyline is very slow and drawn out and none of the character plots have much meat to them. The ending was extremely weak and invoked some irritation for having spent all that time reading.
