People love psychobabble!

Psychobabble provides momentary relief, a quick fix, a feel-good remedy to life's difficulties. But then what?

God and Psychobabble challenges the lies and confusion that the world has used to keep people in bondage. God and Psychobabble presents God's Truth so the world's walking wounded will be set free.

Are you looking for a more abundant, joyful life? The author, a biblical psychotherapist, believes in efforts to make the mind well, saying, "After all, the mind is the command center for the entire body. And how can we have any real quality of life when the mind is in a perpetual state of sadness, fear, or torment?"

But where and how does God enter the big picture-your mind? God and Psychobabble unlocks your mind. You will learn:

  • What psychobabble is and what role it plays in your life.
  • What psychogenic illnesses are.
  • What psychoneuroimmunology is.
  • Why the world is currently groaning and suffering from the consequences of its obsession with psychobabble.

Psychobabble is how many people deal with life and all of its difficulties and complications; but it inevitably results in the same confusion that the tower-building Babylonians faced-unable to communicate deeply, resolving nothing.

But there is an Answer! Living an abundant, joyful life means working through your truth in favor of God's Truth. It can be done-start today!

Kathy Martin breaks down pop culture's psychological theory by delving directly into the core needs of of all human beings. While this does tend to buck the pop culture trends to a degree, including many of Freud's more popular theories, she explains and supports each hypothesis in a clear and concise manner. There is no question as to the biblical based nature of this book, and the inclusion of that component only adds luster to an already potent exposition. Kathy excels in taking the complicated theories behind the human psyche, and converting them into an easy to understand and fun to read journey the breaks down the barriers that pride and society have established. I encourage anyone that feels they have been labeled and are not getting help, to read through this book and embark on a path of discovery that has the ability to truly set you free in truth and love. I was provided a copy of this book by Destiny Image.

God and Psychobabble is a book that blesses everyone that takes precious time out of their day to read it. I have worked in a office with 8 social workers and psychologists and even this being a Christian establishment…there was something missing. Kathy Martin has partnered up with God to take people from living a functional lifestyle battling with their weaknesses, circumstances and other oppressions to walking in His blessing with such ease! This is one you cannot afford to miss!!

Biblical Truth Refutes Pop Psychology “God and Psychobabble” explores, exposes, and refutes the popular deceptions being promoted in today’s culture that lead to bondage, anxiety, and resentment under the guise of finding “success and happiness.” Kathy Martin points the reader to a journey of hope through answers leading to abundant life. Martin explores how establishing a right relationship with God is the only way to find true answers for individuals who are struggling with: • Depression • Codependency • Anxiety Issues of: Pschogenic Illnesses, Psychoneuroimmunology, panic attacks, and Agoraphobia are all described, as well as the side effects these have on our physical body’s functions. Each chapter includes illustrations drawn from real life to illustrate misconceptions, truths, and information. The narrative also includes instruction, suggests actions that can be taken to achieve freedom from these maladies. These principles are re-enforced with thought provoking interactive questions for discussion, reflection, and action. These questions are designed to be used on an individual basis, in a one on one in a mentoring or counseling relationship, or in as a group study or in support group environment. Martin writes with a simplicity and clarity that allows the reader to understand otherwise complex psychological principles which often lead to misconceptions and confusion which keep individuals in emotional bondage. “God and Psychobabble” replaces the momentary relief, feel good remedies, and the quick fixes offered in today’s culture by TV Reality shows and highly rated TV personalities. Martin presents Biblical truth which leads to freedom allowing the reader to experiencing the joy of an abundant life. A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The author addresses the definition of the 'co-dependency'. She nicely weaves the christian faith and psychology. I got lost a little bit with the technical and scientific jargon but the data is necessary to prove her point. It was a nice read if you enjoy understanding human behaviors a bit better. review for Destiny Image (teresaB)

I find the subject of co-dependency a very interesting subject.  My thoughts are that this book will be very helpful to therapist.  As I was reading I would find myself losing interest and having to re-read certain areas to fully understand.  This review is in return for the free gift of this book from Kathy Martin and Destiny Image Publishers.
