Prayer changes lives.
I am a miracle of God—the fact that I am saved and writing this booklet right now. More than 40 years ago, my life was destined for destruction. I was controlled by sin. Not only was I willing to end my life, I was willing to end the lives of my family as well.
But God intervened.
I am here today as a Pastor and a believer in Christ, because people took the time to pray for my salvation before I ever accepted the Lord. Prayer is powerful, whether it is praying to intercede on someone else's behalf or for our own spiritual building-up.
The Psalmist declares, in Psalm 66:19-20: "But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!"
God is interested in you. He is not so busy, He cannot hear you. God hears all believers who pray to Him. Yet, it is amazing to me, even though we can come into the throne of grace and pray to God at any time, few of us do. We neglect the privilege God has given to us.
God desires you come to Him every day for your needs. Do you? God desires you to come to Him daily for communion. Do you?
Though prayer is a commandment, very few Christians spend much time communing and speaking to the Lord. You, yourself, know how much time you spend with God in prayer. For some, the problem is spiritual lethargy. We are too lazy to pray. For some, the problem is busyness with everyday life. We are too busy to pray. Some have a desire to pray, but when they get down on their knees to do so, they get distracted by the enemy. We are too distracted to pray. For many, the problem is unbelief. They do not believe God answers prayer.
I have written this booklet to encourage, educate and assure you, God DOES answer prayer! In fact, you probably do not realize that God has already answered most of your prayers. How? Read on for the answers. By the end of this booklet, you will see the faithfulness of God and the power of prayer. Hopefully, you will start praying and never stop.
