Introduction

I find life so interesting...so full of emotion, confusion, trials and triumphs. As intriguing as it is though, it seems to be something we often take for granted. Every morning that we rise is simply because God gave us the breath to do so. Often times we soak up all life has to offer and feel euphoric, yet other times want to jump off our spinning world and give up. Everyone has moments in his or her life like that. Mine is no different. But God valued life so much that He sacrificed His son’s life so that we may know true love. No amount of suffering that we endure in our life can compare to Jesus’ suffering and no triumph as great as the resurrection. Yet in this paradox we call life, we are growing, molding, and forming each and every day into a new and different person than the day before. Whether we realize it or not, whether we want to accept it or not, our childhood plays a big part in who we are as a person. Our adolescence, our adulthood, our childrearing, all of our relationships, business or personal, are directly reflected by our upbringing and the influences our parents and others had on us when we were children. My story, like others, reiterates this point. It is my prayer that as I share these pieces of me, my life and my heart, that you soak up the words on these pages and are blessed by them. May you find peace and comfort in seeing that you are not alone, that you are loved, and you are special. May you know that God hears your cries and your heartbeat when you call out to Him...even when you think He isn’t listening. So dig in, dig deep. With an open heart and mind I urge you really to listen to what God is trying to tell you through the pages and experiences exposed within this book. Every chapter is a story in itself, and each builds one off of the other to create the testimony of my life. The chapters are each followed by a set of reflective questions. Use these obviously to "reflect" on what you’ve read, on your own life and how you relate to the circumstances. Really hear what God is trying to tell you in your heart. Scriptures pertaining to each story are included to provide insight into what God wants us to see as we stumble through our stubbornness in life. I encourage you to write them on index cards and meditate on them throughout the day. Sink your teeth into what God is trying to tell you through His Word. The final portion of each chapter is a related prayer... prayers of repentance, freedom, courage and so on. These prayers are tools - provided for your assistance, but feel free to pray however you wish and with whatever is on your heart.

Been abused? Depressed? Know someone who has?

Did you know that stats say one in four women was sexually molested as a child? Ever wonder if God is really listening? This book is a great Bible-study toward becoming an overcomer and being victorious. No longer let being a victim rule your life- buy this book, enjoy the journey!
