God Expects Something From You:And Other Sermons By

Dr. Lewis' book is not quite what I thought it would be. I thought that it was going to be a dry, dull, irrelevant collection of boring speeches with many words but no substance. Instead, I found a collection of relevant, powerful, informative, inspirational messages that seem to be aimed directly at me. To be quite honest, he stepped on my toes and although it hurt, I have to take it in and just say 'ouch!' My favorite part from this book was when I was confronted with the reality of my current status as a non-practicing Christian. These words helped me to realize that I too, must leave my comfort zone (the mountain top) and be engaged in the affairs of my community and the world at large (the valley). Thanks Dr. Lewis for a great book.

God Expects Something From You:And Other Sermons By

I was sitting on the train (Subway) and I saw that a book was on the seat across from me. I picked it up and began to browse. to my surprise it was a book left on purpose. It had a label taped on the cover: 'Book Crossing.com / Read and release.' I guess that's what somebody did. I read it, and to my surprise, it was very good. This book kind of opened my eyes to some things about me religiously, spiritually that I either have forgotten over the years, or simply did not know. Each chapter talks about what God expects from me as a human being, as an individual. It was very easy to read and very understandable. Most religious book are over my head...but this book was simple and informative. I was so moved that I went to church that following Sunday after being absent for more than 15 years. I highly recommend this book to all.
