God Gave Us Two by Lisa Tawn Berg and art by Lisa J. Bryant is a wonderful book. This is a children’s book about Little Cub. Little Cub is going to have a baby sibling. She is not quite sure about this but as we go through this book Momma and Papa bear explain that they want to have a new baby and we want you little cub. They explain God gave them little cub now God has given them another baby. Little Cub is unsure but Papa and Mamma bear point out all the wonderful things Little Cub will have if the baby is a sister of a brother. Then the big days comes and little Cub gets a baby brother and a baby sister. This book is so colorful the art is so beautiful and the bears are polar bears. I thought this was a wonderful children’s book and it dealt with a subject children go through and in such a positive way. This book is sure to grab the attention of the children especially little girls as there is a lot of purple colors on the page. I give this book 5 stars. Now is the time in the blog where I have to tell you I received this complementary book in exchange for my review from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing group. The opinions in this review are my own.

God Gave Us Two by Lisa Tawn Bergren is a cute picture book. It was a pleasant break from thicker books I'd been reading. It helps children understand the blessing of a new baby. Throughout the book, Little Cub is told, "God gave us you. Now He's given us two!" They let her know how much fun she can have with her new sibling...normal things like snowball fights...and unique things like iceberg hoppin' and puffin pouncin' :). The book shows how a mommy's tummy gets bigger and bigger. When the baby is about to be born, Little Cub goes to stay with her grandparents. There's a surprise at the end. *Spoiler* During the book, Little Cub wonders if she'll get a baby brother or a baby sister. In the end, she gets both! Two adorable tiny polar bear cubs. While I am obviously not the target audience for this book, it was still fun to read. The illustrations by Laura J. Bryant are sweet and playful. I would recommend God Gave Us Two to anyone who is expecting a new baby and already has children...or as just another nice picture book for your kids to read! ~I was given this book free from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

God Gave Us Two is a children's book meant to help the first child in a family understand why their parents are having a second child. I like the idea of having books around to help my own first child handle the uncertainties that come with a new baby on the way, but I didn't necessarily like how this book went about it. The main character brought up a lot of insecurities and worries which may come with having a new sibling join the family, but I feel it would be more productive to just focus on all the joys of a new baby rather than addressing all of the possible negative feelings. I also thought the wording was just plain awkward in many places. I did really enjoy the beautiful illustrations the book had to offer though.

"God Gave us Two," is a great book to read to your only child if you are expecting a second. I understand there could be questions about adequacy and love from your only child if you decide to have a second child, and this book directly and lovingly addresses them. The artwork is nice and simple, in line with the style of many of the books we read to Jakob. It was bright and vibrant, and the reading was quick. I recommend it.

I love childrens books and this is a really cute one. Being as I had a baby last summer, my kids and I can relate to this book. The book goes through as Mama and Papa bear try to explain to their Little Cub that a new baby is on the way. They want her to understand that she will still be loved and needed in their family. I liked how Mama said, "We don't need a new baby, Little Cub, we want a new baby, just like we wanted you. God gave us you. Now he's given us two!" It's so important for siblings to know that they will still be loved and that they are still important when a new sibling comes along. I read this to my two older children who are five and three. My five year old was very interesting in the book and loved seeing the babies at the end. My three year old got distracted with other things. In order for this book to capture a younger audience, I think it needs fewer words on each page. But, overall, it's a great book to add to any family who is going to be welcoming a baby to their home.

In God Gave us Two, by Lisa Tawn Bergren, you once again enter into the home of a lovable polar bear family and are charmed by their simple conversation about how their family of three is about to turn into a family of four. The illustrations are simple and toned down, compared to the many hyper-color and visually busy books that grace the bookshelves. The language is simple and realistic. In fact, when our second, and third child was born, I remember being asked the question, "Why do we need a new baby?" As if they were a commodity we bought at the grocery store. Overall, it is enjoyable, well done, and my children love it...even though we DON'T have a new baby on the way... I recieved this book for free from Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

"If we don't like the new baby can we send it back?" If I remember correctly my cousin asked my aunt a similar question when his little brother was born, but I think it was more along the lines of "When do we take him back?," and it made everyone laugh. The book "God Gave Us Two" by Lisa Tawn Bergren with art by Laura J. Bryant is the adorable sequel to their book "God Gave Us You." Mama polar bear has a new baby in her tummy and Little Cub is full of curiosity and questions - "Why do we need a new baby?" "Will you forget me when the new baby comes?" "If the new baby cries too much, can I move next door?" Mama and Papa explain to Little Cub that, "God gave us you. Now he's given us two!" and how Little Cub will get to be a big sister. I really enjoyed this book. I feel that Lisa tackled a tough thing for kids to understand sometimes and in such a wonderful and delightful way. The illustrations fit the story perfectly and will keep you smiling till the end.

This children's book is applicable to our family as I am expecting another baby. The book did not disappoint! It is a beautiful hardback with engaging illustrations. In the book, the author speaks to young children about the questions, fears, and insecurities that are associated with their parents bringing a new baby into the home. The mother bear lovingly answers legitimate questions from her "Little Cub", including "If we don't like the new baby, can we send it back?" and others like it to encourage the child to focus on the positive aspects of having another sibling. The parents in the story also interweave God into their answers by reminding the little cub that God gave the little cub to them, as God has also given the family the new baby. I liked the book very much and would recommend it to anyone who is adding another sibling to the home. This would also be a great gift for a baby shower!I received this book from Waterbrook Press. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255 :

As an older sibling with a sister born six years after me, I can remember well how confusing it was when my sister was born. Older siblings are concerned about being replaced or forgotten, and are generally bewildered about why another child has come along. I love that the God Gave Us series does a great job of explaining the purpose behind creation, love, heaven (in the God Gave Us So Much book) and how we came to be (in God Gave Us You). In God Gave Us Two, Lisa Tawn Bergren helps parents explain another difficult subject with ease. God Gave Us Two shows Little Cub asking Mama and Papa questions about the soon-to-be-born sibling, as the parents explain that the baby is a gift from God - in the same way that Little Cub was a gift from God. They reassure Little Cub that both children will be loved very much. This book would be perfect to read to a child between the ages of about two and six to prepare them for the upcoming child and ease their concerns. One slightly confusing aspect of the book is that Mama actually gives birth two twins at the end of the book, which could potentially be confusing for siblings as parents expecting one child would need to explain this so the sibling didn't get set on having two brothers or sisters at once. Disclaimer: Waterbrook Multnomah provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own.

God Gave Us Two is a great book.....We have many in the God Gave Us series and this one again is a great way to teach young children about some major things. Little bear is getting a baby sister or brother and at first isn't to crazy about the idea. Towards the end of the book she decides that being a big sister wouldn't be so bad. She asks many questions about it and in the end is excited. When mama and papa come back from having the baby she finds out she is a proud big sister to a baby brother and sister. A loving story about becoming a big sister. A great addition to our collection. I recieved this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this Review.

I am pregnant and wanted books for my 6 year old that would help her accept getting a little sister. This book was incredible and she loves it. It shows how her and the new baby are equally important. It has a twist at the end as well. Mama Bear ends up having two babies so this would work for a family expecting twins as well. Beautifully done and simple message.

My three year old daughter loves this book!! She wants it read to her every night. I think it brings up questions that are on her three year old level. It's such a sweet book I almost cried when I read it alone for the first time. I'm seven months pregnant so this book was received in perfect time!!
