    AN UPLIFTING AND INSPIRATIONAL READ

God In The Trenches is a superbly written historical account of selected crucial episodes in America's history, from the revolutionary war until 'modern' times. The author is a military man of action, and the military training is evident in his spare, lean and incisive style of writing. Both his understanding and explanation of the complexities of U.S. military history is distilled into easily comprehensible prose which reads more like a tale of high adventure than an olive drab historical account. The delightful and refreshing aspect of this particular book lies in the manner in which the author intertwines his own lenghty and personal travel to a deeper faith and belief in God with his understanding and perceptions of American history. His observations of the actions of the hand of God at critical times in our nation's history are supported with impeccable research from disparate and unlikely sources which adds significantly to the credibility of his writing. It is just a remarkable book, and should be quite well-received in these turbulent times.

A Wonderful look at how God has protected America in her fight for Freedom

This is a book every American should have on their book shelves. In this time when our lives seem so affected by things we can't control, this book paints a picture of an America who is protected and guided by God. This is precicesly what our country needs right now, someone to point out that even in the face of War, if the ultimate cause is good, God will see us through. Keep writing Larkin Spivey. We all need more of what you have to say1
