I used the book as a personal Advent/Christmas reflection. I really enjoyed the selections. Hard to believe so many of them were written in a Nazi prison.
Anyone who first discovers Bonhoeffer in their lives takes great risks of becoming addicted. I first discovered his writings and theology in 1994 and am still discovering new insights regarding how we view faith, love, and charity. His is no simple one man or woman pattern you find which teels you to do three things and become a mighty warrior for the faith. The very title of this book might set one back a little.... 'God is in the Manger'. Have you ever thought about it like that? He starts off with how we are waiting....finding the mystery. He will make you think and read again. At this time we are using this book for our Sunday School Class and we enjoy the discussion. I would heartily recommend you Google Dietrich Bonhoeffer and read a little about him before you start any of his books.
My husband and pastor enjoyed the book
