Paramahansa Yogananda teaches us that God is attainable if we make the effort. His insights into the Hindu bible are teaching to sit with for long periods of time. This book is gift for those seeking deeper meaning to our life's journey.

The scope and depth of Paramahansa Yogananda's commentary is astounding. In God Talks with Arjuna the Yogi Master unveils the Gita's allegorical, psychological and spiritual meaning and applies it to our everyday lives--especially as it relates to the ongoing battle between our Soul and the ego. If you are interested in the true and complete meaning of Yoga, and if you strive to walk the balanced path of right activity and meditation, read this book. Be patient with the long first chapter, and remember, you don't have to start at the beginning and finish at the end; use the table of contents to locate almost any spiritual topic imaginable--this masterpiece has it all.

Sri Yogananda's massive commentary, "God Talks With Arjuna", is highly recommended to those already familiar with Vedantic theology. That it was written from a higher level of consciousness than what the vast majority of mankind will ever experience (in their present state of evolution) is self-evident. Although, many of it's explanations are not new (as other qualified commentators have brought forth similar interpretations), the subtlety and sheer depth of this revelation is, at times, overwhelming! Nearly every sentence opens a new door that lets more of the light of Spirit shine through. It is to be read in small doses and absorbed, as the Master would say, not with the eyes but with the atoms. Joyful tears often filled my eyes as each truth was newly revealed to my soul. There is no greater book of revelation in my (6 decades) of experience.

If you are in any way religiously or spiritually inclined, you will find this book amazing. I learned so much already even though I have only finished the first 130 pages also. However, there are two things to keep in mind. First, this is not a very easy read, with all the ancient Indian words all over the text. But every time an Indian word is used, its meaning is explained. So if you have a bit patience. It is not a problem. Second, it is not story oriented, like the "Autobiography of a Yogi". It is more theoretical. So if you have not read the autobiography of a Yogi", I recommend you read that one first.

This is the best Gita and supplement ever written as there are references to all other major religions thereby showing that there is a truth at the core of all major religions. The ULTIMATE TRUTH!
