Open wide the gates!

This teaching on the gates started an awakening in my heart and caused me to hunger for a deeper walk with the Lord. ...it began a new quest for the glory of God to manifest--and it most definitely did! -Jo Ellen Stevens

Too many think that the day we become born again, God turns us loose to somehow evolve into mature Christians. On the contrary, He has a plan for our success, and the gates define that--step by step, experience by experience, truth by truth.

God's Plan for Our Success Nehemiah's Way: Rebuilding the Gates in Your Christian Journey is a unique look at how the ten gates described in the Book of Nehemiah affect your life. Gates are crucial for you to walk through and understand, making your daily hike more successful. These benchmarks help you grow stronger and know how to react when your "city" lies in "waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire" (Neh. 2:17).

This book is an insightful, practical blueprint to building a rich life of blessings. You go through the first gate as a new Christian and through each of the other gates on your way toward the last one--your God-given destiny.

    Greatly Highly Recommended

This is awesome and life changing book. Connie hunter reveals the keys to successfully grow and mature in your Christian Journey by Using Nehemiah system. Using life situations, bible scriptures with Nehemiah’s gate to show how to walk with God in such a incredible way. The first chapter; The Sheep Gate:Falling In Love, is about god being like the Shepherd and you being like sheep. How you need to be fully dependent on him and how God deeply adore us like a Shepherd for his sheep. As we get to know him, we love him back. Come Along comes rest, guidance ,protection, peace and so much more. Also their are different parts to in this chapter. In the second chapter; The Fish Gate:Sharing the news is about sharing the good news about the Gospel with people who haven't received salvation. We are to be fishermen capturing the lost soul into God's Kingdom. This book is so amazing and exciting. Here are the rest of the chapters:The Old Gate: Going Deeper, The Valley Gate:Enduring the Trials, The Dung(refuse)Gate:Refining Our Character, The Fountain Gate:Getting Filled, The Water Gate:Devouring the Word,The Horse Gate:Doing Warfare,The East Gate:Fostering worship and lastly The Gate of Miphkad:Fulfilling Our Destiny. This book is definitely a book to keep in your personal library, AND IF YOU FOLLOW THESE STEPS YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED AT ALL.Right now I'm rereading this book again. This is Destiny Image review program.

A great guide to the christian life

This book is an excellent handbook to the christian life, if you can afford only one book on the Christian life buy this one. We are introduced to the teaching of God’s word in a very direct and understandable way, we are constantly reminded also that the christian life is the Spirit empowered life.

Her illustrations are also testimonies to the grace of God at work in her and through her.

The first chapter lays the foundation for the rest of the book by showing that our Salvation is all through what Christ has done for us and how we are to respond to this grace by loving God.

The second chapter shows how witnessing to god’s love to us is an indispensable part of the Christian life and is an overspill from the grace received at salvation.

The third chapter challenges us to be deeply rooted in the Word of God and to grow in our faith and love for God. She rightly calls this going deeper with God.

In chapter four, we encounter very helpful teaching about the trials we will endure, the book is worth buying for this chapter alone. So often we wonder about the trials and tribulations of life and wonder if God has abandoned us but Connie show how God uses trials to build our character.

Chapter five shows how God goes about refining our character by his word and Spirit and lifes experiences.

Chapter six contains vital teaching about being filled with the Holy Spirit and the place of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This chapter with its clear teaching and testimonies will help anyone with questions about the Spirit filled life.

Chapter seven brings to the importance of devouring the Word of God, once again we see the balance in her teaching between Word and Spirit. We are reminded of the authority of God’s word as the source of all good teaching and the bar against which we check all teachings and experiences.

chapter eight reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle and that we are called to fight in this battle for the glory of God and for the blessing of our fellow human beings.

Chapter nine is about the importance of worship, our God deserves all the honour and praise and we are given much helpful teaching on how to foster worship in our daily lives.

Chapter Ten reminds us that we have a destiny that is unique for each one of us, this chapter reminds us that we are unique and precious to God and because of this God’s plans for us are good.

In summary then this is an excellent resource for the Christian as they live out the life of discipleship.

Get this book and be blessed.

This book is really good! I love Connie’s writing style. This book is about the stages in our walk with God all the way till maturity. She uses the book of Nehemiah as a study to describe our stages of growth in the Kingdom. She describes the different stages in life such as falling in love with our shepherd Jesus, and second stage of sharing the good news of what has transpired in our lives because of King Jesus. He he he and going deeper in God this is really amazing. Knowing God and his amazing ways. Then her teachings on enduring the trials how God can use trials to shape us and transform us and to grow. If we hold on to him we will see him bring breakthrough. Getting our characters refined by God by knowing him more in the trials we go through. After coming from the valley the Holy Spirit fills us up and refreshes us. Then we start feasting on the word of God. Reading the word of God which brings strength, encouragement, direction, instruction and cleansing in our lives. Being filled through the rhema word of God. Then the horse gate doing warfare. After being equipped by God we are destined for success in everything through Jesus. Wow my favourite chapter was on worship and praising God and how that changes the atmosphere and brings miracles, healings and deliverance. The last stage God takes us to the place that he has designed for us and destined for us to be. Were we receive assignments from the lord. Wow I loved this book. This is the best book on the study of Nehemiah that I have read and I intend to read it over and over again. God bless Connie even more.

Connie brilliantly lays out a map of our Christian journey simplifying and revealing profound insight to God’s heart through her pursuit in unraveling the gates in the book of Nehemiah.
This is a solid study that could be used in small groups, bible studies, as well as for the individual hungry to grow in God and stay the course. Our path is so often longer with hiccups and hurdles and not the least bit comfortable at times, that understanding the process (and God’s discipline, not punishment) can strengthen us for the tests that can ultimately take us out by way of skepticism or discouragement, thus overwhelming us before we realize our purpose.
Treasures and mysteries are given freely that He has hidden for his people to seek out, while multiple meanings are exposed and interpreted with the use of continuous scripture, solid Greek and Hebrew translations’, defined meanings and intertwined personal anecdotes’.
    Truly God Inspired

A Plan for Success - Lessons on Rebuilding from Nehemiah

A Plan for Success – Lessons on Rebuilding from Nehemiah Connie Hunter-Urban is a skilled communicator, a uniquely gifted teacher who understands the basic elements of building a solid foundation. “God’s Way: Plan for Our Success Nehemiah’s” introduces important principles for successful kingdom living and reveals a plan for “Rebuilding the Gates in Your Christian Journey” from the book of Nehemiah, chapter 33. Hunter-Urban likens the Christian walk to a marathon and a growing, maturation process. A look at the map of Jerusalem (Appendix 1) provides the reader with a visual picture of the progression of the spiritual journey of the believer. Connie sees the sheep gate as falling in love with Jesus, our salvation; the fish gate as sharing the good news of the Gospel, and the old gate as digging deeper into the Word. These phases prepare us for facing trials, building our character, spiritual warfare, true worship, and fulfilling our destiny. I especially gleaned insight from the parallels with the charts in the appendix showing the “Levels of Ezekiel’s Rivers” and the “Wilderness Tabernacle. Connie’s message is biblically based, filled with acumen, written with clarity and passion. It is deeply profound and well organized. “God’s Way: Plan for Our Success Nehemiah’s” provides an excellent blueprint for “Rebuilding the Gates in Your Christian Journey.” A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own. As reviewed for Midwest Book Review.
