Chapter One

You Live Like His Princess

Did you know you're a princess? Yes, a daughter of the King! So live the life of royalty, And show the joy God's love can bring!

Trust the Lord and do good. Live in the land and enjoy its safety. Enjoy serving the Lord. And he will give you what you want. Depend on the Lord. Trust him, and he will take care of you. Then your goodness will shine like the sun. Your fairness will shine like the noonday sun. Psalm 37:3-6

* * *

You are children of the Lord your God.... He has chosen you from all the people on earth to be his very own. Deuteronomy 14:1-2

It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you-the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear, and it is worth very much to God. 1 Peter 3:3-4

You Are Happy

Hooray! It's a wonderful day! Picking daisies is oh, so fun ... There is always a reason to be happy, When you're living for Jesus the Son!

Ask and you will receive. And your joy will be the fullest joy. John 16:24

* * *

You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. You are filled with a joy that cannot be explained. And that joy is full of glory. 1 Peter 1:8

* * *

The Lord makes me very happy. All that I am rejoices in my God. The Lord has covered me with clothes of salvation. He has covered me with a coat of goodness. Isaiah 61:10

* * *

The Lord has done great things for us, and we are very glad. Psalm 126:3

You Are Thankful

For parents and friends who love you, For a cuddly doll to hold tight, For the earth, the sky, and the sea- Say, "Thank You, God!" with all your might.

Thanks be to God for his gift that is too wonderful to explain. 2 Corinthians 9:15

* * *

Thank the Lord because he is good. His love continues forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

* * *

The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him, and he helps me. I am very happy. And I praise him with my song. Psalm 28:7

Come, let's bow down and worship him. Let's kneel before the Lord who made us. He is our God. And we are the people he takes care of and the sheep that he tends. Psalm 95:6-7

You Are Worried

Dear, precious one, don't you worry; Sweet, little girl, don't you fret! God hasn't met any problem That's been too big for Him yet!

Give your worries to the Lord. He will take care of you. Psalm 55:22

* * *

You, Lord, give true peace. You give peace to those who depend on you. You give peace to those who trust you. So, trust the Lord always. Trust the Lord because he is our Rock forever. Isaiah 26:3-4

* * *

"I leave you peace. My peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don't let your hearts be troubled. Don't be afraid." John 14:27

* * *

So be humble under God's powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

You Need Help

Searching for help? Nowhere to turn? You've looked both high and low? There's just one thing to remember: Prayer is the best place to go.

People, trust God all the time. Tell him all your problems. God is our protection. Psalm 62:8

* * *

Trust the Lord with all your heart. Don't depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in everything you do. And he will give you success. Proverbs 3:5-6

So our hope is in the Lord. He is our help, our shield to protect us. Psalm 33:20

God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid if the earth shakes, or if the mountains fall into the sea. Psalm 46:1-2

You Feel Guilty

When you've lost your mom's best bracelet Or you've made your best friend feel bad, "I'm sorry" are the magic words That will help turn sad into glad!

"God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. He who believes in God's Son is not judged guilty." John 3:17-18

* * *

If anyone belongs to Christ, then he is made new. The old things have gone; everything is made new! 2 Corinthians 5:17

* * *

"Don't judge other people, and you will not be judged. Don't accuse others of being guilty, and you will not be accused of being guilty. Forgive other people, and you will be forgiven." Luke 6:37

You Are Tempted to Do the Wrong Thing

The smell of fresh cookies fills the air, But you remember Mom saying, "Don't!" So when a sneaky voice says, "Yes, you can," Make sure your reply is, "I won't!"

[Y]ou can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can stand. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to stand it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

* * *

Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy. And he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to eat. Refuse to give in to the devil. Stand strong in your faith. 1 Peter 5:8-9

For this reason Jesus had to be made like his brothers in every way.... And now he can help those who are tempted. He is able to help because he himself suffered and was tempted. Hebrews 2:17-18

You Feel Lonely

Feeling left out and a little sad? Stuck in the lonely zone? Go to the One who is always there, And you'll never be alone.

So don't worry, because I am with you. Don't be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you. I will support you with my right hand that saves you. Isaiah 41:10

When your very best friend moves away Or your dolly can't be found, Turn to God, and you will find His comforting love all around.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy. And he is the God of all comfort. He has not punished us as our sins should be punished. He has not repaid us for the evil we have done.... He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from west. Psalm 103:10, 12

* * *

The Lord forgives me for all my sins. He heals all my diseases. He saves my life from the grave. He loads me with love and mercy. Psalm 103:3-4

* * *

If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. 1 John 1:9

You Are Angry

Did that girl in your class tattle on you? Did your brother ruin your art? Don't yell; don't pout; don't go around mad; Ask God to put peace in your heart. Always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily. Anger will not help you live a good life as God wants. So put out of your life every evil thing and every kind of wrong you do. Don't be proud but accept God's teaching that is planted in your hearts. This teaching can save your souls. James 1:19-21

* * *

A gentle answer will calm a person's anger. But an unkind answer will cause more anger. Proverbs 15:1

Do not be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, then forgive him. Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13

You Want Your Own Way

When you really want to play dress-up, But your friends all want to play dolls, Don't demand your own way-just keep your cool! Then choose what works best for you all!

A wise person is careful and stays out of trouble. But a foolish person is quick to act and careless. A person who quickly loses his temper does foolish things. But a person with understanding remains calm. Proverbs 14:16-17

* * *

Yes, God is working in you to help you want to do what pleases him. Then he gives you the power to do it. Philippians 2:13

* * *

Help me obey your commands because that makes me happy. Help me want to obey your rules instead of selfishly wanting riches. Psalm 119:35-36

You Are Afraid

Monsters. Spiders. Being alone. Do these things make you tremble in fear? When you're afraid, remember these words: God is with you; He's always near!

God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid. He gave us a spirit of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

* * *

The Spirit that we received is not a spirit that makes us slaves again to fear. The Spirit that we have makes us children of God. And with that Spirit we say, "Father, dear Father." And the Spirit himself joins with our spirits to say that we are God's children. If we are God's children, then we will receive the blessings God has for us. Romans 8:15-17

Where God's love is, there is no fear, because God's perfect love takes away fear. 1 John 4:18

* * *

I will not be afraid because the Lord is with me. People can't do anything to me. Psalm 118:6

    I Also Recommend:

    God's promises for girls by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker

    This is a cute little book for children, it comes with a hardcover and it's designed very attractively for little girls.
    The book is structured into 7 big chapters - God's promises for different situations or what God wants you do as a child of his.
    Each page starts with a little poem followed by 3 or 4 verses that emphasize the topic, and at the bottom of the page there is a cute illustration that exemplifies what was presented before.

    I personally liked the book and I think it is perfect for preschoolers. It is easy to read, to follow and to understand. I also love the idea of structuring into topics because that makes it interesting and easy to memorize as well. And all the cute illustrations makes it even more appealing for little girls.
    I am convinced that this book is a perfect and useful tool for parents to teach their children precious bible lessons that can be understood, applied and fully enjoyed by the little kids, therefore I totally recommend it.

    God's Promises for Girls--A Review

    http://www.amazon.com/Gods-Promises-Girls-Jack-Countryman/dp/1400315913/
    Thomas Nelson provided for me the book God's Promises for Girls, by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker. This is a devotional-type book designed for young girls. My 8-year-old daughter read it with no problem and it seemed to be just right for her reading level.
    Beyond readability, of course, is the content of the book, and it's very well done. It divides each day into two pages (one page spread). For each day, there is one topic (example: Trusting God) and a few verses to meditate on. There is no commentary; just the verses, plus some very nice illustrations.
    I highly recommend this book for girls around age 8, give or take a few years. In fact, as an adult male, I found I could get a lot out of this book as well.

    Note that there is also a boys' version of the book which I did not review.

    "God's Promises for Girls" by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker

    Sweet as a batch of cupcakes, this book delivers what its title decrees. Instead of concrete chapters, each left and right page holds a lesson for girls. There is a title, a picture, a short poem, and a collection of relevant Bible verses. The illustration are adorable and display various acts of kindness and good behavior. While girls are depicted in dresses and oftentimes with dolls, readers do not get a sense of pigeonholing. Rather, they get a sense that girls are portrayed as princesses--God's princesses. This book will get little girls excited about the Bible. The glossy pages and short nature of this book will prepare girls for the larger size and depth of the actual Bible.

    God's Promises for Girls

    This is a devotional book for girl's (and young ladies.) My daughter (18) and I read this book, and I will be giving it to my granddaughter for a gift. It is excellent. The drawings are adorable (though it could have been even more multi-cultural than it is) and printed on nice quality, glossy paper. Each topic is a 2 page spread. The first 4 lines give a summary of the topic - then applicable Bible verses are quoted. Younger girls will need to be instructed on how to use the book - or even better - read it together with a significant adult. As the years go by, the child will then be able to use it as a comforting devotional guide on their own.

    A devotional book is a great way to find help in time of need and learn to turn one's heart to God first in life's trials and complexities. This is a superb first devotional for girl's that can become a comfort to them well into adulthood. I highly recommend it.

    God's Promises for girls is a precious book for any little girl

    "God's Promises For Girls" is a wonderful children's book for young girls. My 6 and 9 year old daughter's loved it, and girls ages 5-12 would most likely enjoy it. It is an age appropriate resource with scriptures listed topically by subject. It is a great tool for teaching young children the Word of God and for teaching them to go to God's Word when they have questions. Whether your happy, lonely, or afraid or just wanting to be a better friend this book has something for every subject.

    Each topic is presented clearly with a rhyming verse that makes it fun to read. It is then followed by the Bible verses that relate to the topic. Each topic is presented in a simple and fun format on two pages, along with illustrations. It is put together beautifully, with much thought. The illustrations and colors, along with the poems, make it an appealing book to children. I think it is a great little book and would recommend it for any young girl. My daughter's and I enjoyed it very much and I'm sure they will return to it again and again.

    Review for God's Promises for Little Girls

    This is a very cute book for little girls. The book is divided into topics that would be relevant to little girls and provides scripture to support each topic, example topics include; God's Love Never Changes, God's Promises When You Are Worried, Promises about God's Grace, etc... The verses in the book are taken from The Children's International Bible. I was not overly excited about the translation. I think some of the verses require further explanation for children to grasp full understanding of the verse. I did enjoy the book and plan on using it with my daughter. It is a great teaching tool and can easily be used as a scriptural reference book. I recommend this book to girls between the ages of 4-10.

    I loved this book. The promises that are made, and the Bible verses that back them up are encouraging and comforting. I have two daughters, and I am excited to have both of them read it. The illustrations are adorable, and the size of the book is perfect for little hands. I would recommend this book for all mothers of little girls. Or not so little girls.

    Prayer is the best place to go.

    People, trust God all the time.
    Tell him all your problems.
    God is our protection.
    Psalm 62:8

    Trust the Lord with all your heart.
    Don't depend on your own understanding.
    Remember the Lord in everything you do.
    And he will give you success.
    Proverbs 3:5-6

    So our hope is in the Lord.
    He is our help, our shield to protect us.
    Psalm 33:20

    God is our protection and our strength.
    He always helps in times of trouble.
    So we will not be afraid if the earth shakes,
    or if the mountains fall into the sea.
    Psalm 46:1-2

    In the book, God's Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman & Amy Parker, this beautifully illustrated book offers Bible verses to provide comfort and encouragement when young girls need reassurance of God's love, protection, and forgiveness. As children see again and again that Scripture has the answers they need, they will learn to rely on God and His promises. The promise verses have been selected from the best-selling International Children's Bible.

    In reviewing this complimentary book from Thomas Nelson Publishers, I feel in love with the beautiful artwork that accompanies each topic and the simple scriptures that accompany each much like the example above. There are 60 topics covered for little girls to understand.

    The best part of reviewing this book was having my 11 year old daughter read it and having her come back and share what she has learned. It literally brought tears to my eyes when she shared with me what it means to her to be a princess of God. You can't get any more value from a book than this. She keeps it by her bed and read one topic each night before heading to bed and I can already see how much it's blessing her.

    God's Promises for Girls

    God's Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker is a great book for little girls. The illustrations are fun and colorful. The spiritual truths are relevant to every girls life. There are many different topics covered in the book from being worried or angry, to being a good sister and daughter, to God's love and grace. Each topic has great scriptures to accompany it that are relevant to the specific area being discussed. Little girls will love this book.
    I can't wait to read this book to my little girl as she gets older. The ideas although simple and straightforward are powerful. Scripture will not return void in our lives and I am excited about such a cute little book that we can use to integrate more scripture into our daughters life.

    What a sweet little book!

    I just got the book God's promises in the mail and oh what a darling little book! First off, I notice the hard cover with beautiful colors and the artwork of the little girl and other characters including her kitty in the book are beautiful and whimsical! I really like all the different themes they have for God's promises in the book and I especially am excited to hopefully use this soon as we are adopting! I think its a wonderful companion to read with your child every day about the promises in God's word that God has given us! I think from the very beginning of our childrens life, we need to tell them about these beautiful promises that God has given us! I recommend this book and of course if you have a boy, I recommend getting the God's promises for little boys!

    Vibrant and adorable book..

    "Noble and gentle, loving and kind, More valuable than rubies..Stay faithful and true, then one day you'll find. You're the woman God wants you to be!" A small glimpse into God's Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman & Amy Parker. I picked up my free copy of this sweet and adorable book from booksneeze.com. They will send you free books to review and blog about! Try it out today!

    Countryman & Parker take you on a vibrant, beautiful journey through illustrations, poems or sayings, and scripture that follow a little girl through seven themes, which include:

    God's Promises When..
    God's Promises About..
    God wants you to..
    God's Promises of Help when.
    God's Promises About Making a Difference.
    God's Promises about Jesus..
    God's Promises for you...

    The authors use scriptures from the International Children's Bible to give guidance, knowledge, and encouragement for little girls. I believe that this charming hardback is more appropriate for girls ages 6-12. It would make an adorable gift for that small princess!

    I Also Recommend:

    Great gift for all girls!

    This book is filled with wonderful verses that any young girl can turn to for so many situations that life may hold for them. My girls are 2 and 3 years old..Well below the suggested age for the book (9-12 years)..but I read parts of it to them nonetheless. My favorite was the section on being a good sister. My 3 year old loved it so much that she is sleeping with it right now.

    The illustrations are so adorable and really bring the section to life. Each section is only a few pages and has several verses taken straight from the Bible to support the opening rhyme. I think that a young teen girl trying to find her spiritual path would do well to have this book.

    Parents, this book is perfect for a baptism gift, birthday gift, "I love you" gift.really any occasion warrants giving your daughter God's Promises for Girls. This and the complimenting God's Promises for Boys would also make a wonderful guide to go by in a youth bible study group.
