Overview

He lives on the straight and narrow, but she’s determined to take the curves way too fast…

Librarian Hollie Bennett is used to being overshadowed by her older brothers. One’s a country star, one’s a former football star…and she’s just a sedate librarian with a secret thing for high-end lingerie and fast sports cars.

One person she doesn’t have a thing for? Obstinate, rule-abiding, stupidly hot Rafe Martinez—her older brother’s best friend.

Until the night he saves her from herself, after she decides to go a little wild at a party. And the guy she ends up going wild with is the one she hates during the day.

Rafe.

Architect. Suit. Man with an amazing skill with his tongue that can’t be un-known no matter how hard she tries.

And he’s not ready to give up his wild-woman-in-librarian’s-clothing…even if he has to dig out every trick in his arsenal to prove she’s not the only one with a hidden naughty side.

I thought the characters were adults not high schooler. Written poorly , no real character build up or a plot.

What's a girl got to do to have some fun? Seriously, between her protective older brothers, and her one-time crush, Rafe Martinez, Hollie Bennett's chances of getting some action range between, oh, zero and none. But when Hollie's well-meaning friend, who just happens to be Rafe's sister, decides to help things along, her chances start to look a whole lot better. Holy guacamole, book friends, break out the fire extinguisher, because this story has ALL of the hotness! It's no secret that author Cari Queen is a mistress of the sexy read, but, dang, y'all, do not attempt to read this book without a fan nearby. Rafe had been at the top of Hollie's lust list, until reality proved to be a lot less exciting than fantasy. So, imagine Hollie's surprise when close proximity brings all of those feelings rushing back. And, Rafe, well, this Latin lover can hardly keep his hands to himself when Hollie is around. Before long, the two are making new memories, and, oh, my goodness, it's a surprise that the pages don't burst into flame. I'm a big fan of Cari's books, and was excited to see Hollie and Rafe finally get their story. They are perfect together, and the bonus of getting to check in with the rest of the Bennett family makes this a great addition to the Boys of Fall series.

Another great book by Cari Quinn! Rafe and Hollie's story is HOT. I love Hollie's attitude in that she says what she feels and does what she wants consequences be damned! I really enjoyed reading about "the little sister" of Cari's three books in the Boys of Fall series.

Hollie had a taste of Rafe and it didn't work out too well. None of her partners have been stellar. So she's looking for some fun, someone to rock her world...and she's looking in all the wrong places. Rafe is asked to "keep an eye" on Hollie; to save her from herself. They are awkward and funny and fabulous together, and ultimately on FIRE. Hollie figures out what she wants and goes for it, which is refreshing to see, and Rafe eventually comes onboard :) This was a great read, fact-paced, and well worth it. Hollie and Rafe are a great couple, and I really enjoyed this story.

Great fast read, in series. This was a great read. Cari Quinn has another hits with her characters. Hollie is a sarcastic and. funny heroine, Rafe is dominant interesting hero. This book kept me engaged with the chemistry and hot hookup. This is a book that you just have to read and read the series.

Cari Quinn created her most fun, unconventional, and unforgettable heroine to date in Hollie Bennett, which quickly made her my new favorite Boys of Fall character. The girl’s sarcastic wit and “say what I think & do what I feel” style slayed me. What she thought, she said. What she wanted to do, she did. I never knew what to expect but was always guaranteed it was going to be bold or hilarious, and that’s why I loved her so much. Rafe wasn’t your typical, dominant, manwhore hero either, which was refreshing. Gotta admit that while I enjoyed that, it took me a little bit longer to warm up to him. But Hollie had no trouble…warming up Rafe or the situation. Holy wow! This was a fun, laugh out loud, incinerate your panties read that hooked me at the first words and didn’t turn me loose until I’d devoured it practically in one sitting. The author has made these fictional characters and town seem so real that I’m going to miss them now that the series is over. I can guarantee that I’ll be re-reading them all whenever I need a pick me up. 4.5 stars

3.75 stars--GOING HARD by Cari Quinn is a contemporary adult storyline in the multi-authored THE BOYS OF FALL romance series focusing on several former high school football players from Quinn, Texas who were called home when their former coach suffered a stroke. The Boys of Fall series is co-authored by Cari Quinn, Erin Nicholas and Mari Carr. GOING HARD follows the friends to lovers romance between librarian Hollie Bennett, and architect Rafe Martinez. Hollie is Wade and Cole’s sister whose stories were told in GOING LONG and GOING DEEP by Cari Quinn. Told from dual third person points of view (Hollie and Rafe) GOING HARD follows the friends to lovers/forbidden romance between librarian Hollie Bennett, and her brother’s ex-bestfriend Rafe Martinez. Hollie has been in love with Rafe for as long as she can remember but four years her senior, Hollie believed Rafe never considered her more than his best friend’s little sister. Fast forward to present day wherein Hollie and Rafe hooked up for a disastrous one-night stand leaving Hollie less than impressed with the man of her dreams. When Hollie decides to look elsewhere for love, Rafe makes it his mission to protect Hollie from herself proving he is the man for her. GOING HARD focuses on the building relationship between Rafe and Hollie-a relationship tempered by Rafe’s fractured friendship with Hollie’s brother Wade, and Hollie’s need to explore her boundaries and the outside world. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate. The secondary and supporting characters including Wade and Charlene (Going Long #1), as well as Colt, Drake and Paige (Going Deep #2). We are introduced to Rafe’s long suffering mother who is determined to see to her son’s happiness with the girl that he loves. GOING HARD is a lively story with animated characters and an intoxicating romance. The premise is fateful and heartwarming; the characters are charismatic and real; the romance is a seduction to a happily ever after.

Hollie Bennett is the baby sister of Colt and Wade Bennett, who both got their HEA in earlier Boys of Fall books. Rafe Martinez is Wade's wife Charli's big brother. They were all really close growing up until adult life happened. Rafe and Hollie have had feelings for each other since she was 13 years old regardless of their four year age difference. Rafe and his best friend Wade have been estranged since Wade hooked up with Charli. Hollie has always been the good girl. She grew up to be a librarian and now wants to shake that good girl stereotypical persona. Rafe and Hollie have had a few near misses in the past year so Hollie decides Rafe is a bad idea. Until Charli asks Rafe to keep an eye on Hollie. That starts them down their path to their HEA. I really enjoyed this book. I was curious to see why they had issues when they had serious heat. It led to a very real life kind of story. I loved everything about it and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hard to put down. Cari Quinn develops such good characters in all her books. In Going Hard you have Hollie Bennett, a feisty little thing, that is such a hoot, I just had to keep turning the pages to she what she would do next. Rafe Martinez is our hot hero who has his hands full reining Hollie in. Great couple chemistry. I have not read the books in the beginning of the series and I really think that would have made this book more enjoyable. Hollie and Rafe have history that follows them into the story and sets it up. I recommend reading the first Boys of Fall books so you have the complete picture.
