Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
People take field trips to visit new places. People take field trips to learn new things. Some people take field trips to parks—which are special outdoor places. Animals, such as ducks, can be seen in some parks. Other parks provide places for people to sit on sunny days. Parks can be found in big cities and in the country. Some parks have boats to enable people to go out on a lake. Sports can be played on the grass in parks. Some parks have gardens and mazes made of plants. Parks with playgrounds are popular with young children. Parks can be found near old castles and homes. Some feature very old sculptures. When visiting a park on a sunny day, wear sunscreen. Always place trash in a trash can. These brief introductions to types of parks are accompanied by colorful photographs. Most of the pictures include a child or a group of children who could be there on a field trip. Includes a table of contents, a picture glossary (4 words), and an index. Part of the "A World of Field Trips" series. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.
