ABBA is the essential part of our music library. It never failed to entertain or hit the right mood of the moment. It keeps us together in a way because that one of the things the whole family likes (3 generations now) no matter the other taste in music we all have.

Abba's Greatest Hits is a wonderful collection of Abba's hits. I found myself dancing around the room, singing at the top of my lungs. The energy starts with "Dancing Queen" and doesn't stop until the CD does.

I forgot about ABBA for a while; however with the musical productions, I realized how much I enjoyed them and once again became a big ABBA fan. ABBA GOLD is their best and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I am.

Coming from someone who lived it, this was the "Best" of ABBA, though their littler-known releases can be rewarding, as well. This was the finest of ABBA, both from then and now. With the emergence of "Mama Mia" novices might mistake this for the soundtrack, but in truth, the soundtrack was what ABBA was. The story simply came later.

This is both a retrospective as well as a new beginning for the group; hearing their beautiful voices merging in a crescendo of emotion and depth. I simply loved this album (Yes I did say Album, in older terms) I would recommend it to both old and young for a bridge to a time when the honesty of the 70's was a safe haven from the turmoil of the beat ridden times.

it seems that in today's entertainment industry the word superstar(s) is used way too often. it's used to describe just about everyone & anyone in the business these days, & the majority of entertainers being called superstars are far from it. if ever there were an act worthy of being called superstars it's ABBA. they rarely ever toured, they split 25 years ago, & they never reformed, yet their brilliant music continues to speak for itself as ABBA GOLD surpasses 30 million copies sold & the musical "MAMMA MIA" is well on it's way to grossing 3 billion dollars worldwide & has a very good chance of becoming the most successful musical of all time. not bad for a group who toured the U.S. for 2 short weeks in september 1979! my point being while most "superstars" are out there touring or recording relentlessly & selling themselves in any way they can, ABBA has never had to do that. their music stands on it's own & speaks for itself. ABBA deserve the title of SUPERSTARS, & there music will be around forever.

Well, all the classics in the same album but unfortunately there are too much slow tracks "Fernando", "Thank You for the Music". All these tracks are definitely classics but it doesn't sound good enough. There should more songs from "Ring Ring" and "Waterloo". 'Hasta Manana' is a classic for example. I can't find it here.

SLIP INTO A MAGNUM OF MOET CADET, TURN DOWN THE LIGHTS AND IMAGINE STEPPING ONTO A STEEL DANCE FLOOR WITH A MIRRORED BALL SPINNING ABOVE YOU. THE MUSIC OF THIS PRICELESS COLLECTION RECAPTURES INCREDIBLE MEMORIES OF A MORE PEACEFUL TIME WITH DEFINITIVE MUSIC FOR DANCING, LISTENING, AND LOVING. THE ENTIRE COLLECTION IS SO CHOICE THAT IT IS ALMOST UNFAIR TO OTHER ARTISTS WHO STRIVE TO EEK OUT ONE WORTHY SONG PER UNIT OF SALE. LISTEN TO THIS WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE, SOMEONE WHO LOVES TO PARTY, SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS MUSIC AND RESPECTS THE EFFORTS OF GENUINE MUSIC LEGENDS.

Few people in the USA realize what a mega group ABBA was in Europe and Australia. They are back on top with the phenomenal success of the Broadway show, Mamma Mia, playing to sell out audiences in the USA, Canada and London. THis CD compiles some of their top hits and doesn't disappoint the most ardent ABBA fan or a recent convert. Put on this CD and I guarantee even the most hard edged music critic will find themselves tapping their feet, at the very least, to ABBA's music.

I first heard of ABBA from listening to the remakes of their songs done by the A*Teens. I fell in love with the remakes, so I checked out the ABBA:Gold cd, and after listening to it once, I instantly fell in love. I really think that anyone who likes music should check out ABBA. Long live ABBA!

ABBA music is timeless and for any age. I have seen the stage play Mamma Mia (based on ABBA music) 3 timers and loved every minute. Trying to say which song is best is like saying which one of your children you love the most. I love them all.

I LOVED this CD. Though I am a little too young in comparison to this CD,the songs are timeless. I definitely recommend this CD to anyone--young or old.

All Music Guide - Bruce Eder
ABBA's 19-song Gold collection was the first hits compilation prepared specifically for the CD format by the 1970s supergroup, and, appearing after a period of several years in which their music had been off the market, was a welcome addition to the catalog. It is still the simplest and most straightforward collection of the group's material that it is possible to buy.
