Meet the Author

Melissa J. Morgan started going to sleep away camp when she was eight years old and didn't stop until her first job after grad school refused her request for eight weeks of summer vacation. She's since quit that job to become a full-time author. The only reason she didn't go back to camp is that her husband refused to join her. Melissa lives in New York with him and Bugle, their Chocolate Lab.

    The golden cat:chapter two

I nodded. Mom looked distressed. "Did you touch any of them",she asked. "Ofcourse i didn't",I lied. "Good",Mom looked relieved now. "Finnish your dinner. "Okay",I said. I twirled my nooddls in my bowl. Mom left me to eaf dinner in peace. When i finnished I ran up to my room to read a story. I looked at my big selection of books. But only one area caught my eye. I picked it up and looked at it excitedly. It was one of the WARRIORS books and the book was called SUNSET. It was the sixth one of THE NEW PROPHECY SERIES. I flipped to the prolouge. 'Night lay heavily over the forest. No wind stirred the long grass at the edge of the path where a massive tabby cat stalked through the shadows',I read silently to myself. 'He paused, ears pricked, amber eyes narrowed. No moon or stars shone in the sky above his head but tree trunks thick with fungus shed an eerie glow on the earth beneath his paws. The huge tom opened his jaws to draw in the air, though he did not expect to tast the scent of–""Turn off the lights ,Noala!"Mom cried from down stairs. I nodded and closed the book. I krept up silently and tiptoed to my book shelf. I slid my book neatly in and the tiptoed back. I layed on my bed. I bended over and turned off my lamp. I layed down and amediantly fell asleep.***I dreamed I was a cat in a humoungus forest. Ivy grew up on a side of a tree. I heard a squirrel and suddenly i had a wierd feeling of chasing it. I spotted it and ran off towards it happily. The squirrel darted off. I ran back to the tree. I noticed I could hear much more than a human, See much better, and smell way better. I leaped up and grabbed the end of a branch. I swung myself up there and I looked down. There was hardly any trace of me still there except my scent still hung there. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep. When I woke up I was in my bed wity my sheets tossed around me. I sighed and pulled the sheets back into its neat order. Poppy knocked on the door. I sighed and opened it. "Mom is calling some kind of national animal people to come and take away the cats." I ran downstaairs without a moment to lose. Mom was dialing a number into are phone. I glared at her. "Whats wrong sweetie pie",Mom asked pausing. "They are just cats outside! They will leave if they want too",I cried. Mom nodded. "I guess you have a point",Mom said. "I'll call back and tell them nevermind. If i let them stay then you make sure they leave by tommorow night. I nodded. "Now go outside and stay a good distance away",Mom ordered. I ran outside I saw the cats crowding around. I noticed the she cats with kittens in the middle of the crowd with the old cats. Younger cats stayed on the edge keeping an eye on me. I remembered the golden cat was still in the garage. I tapped in the code and walked inside. I heard him meowing and trying to get out. I walkee over and opened the door. He shot out of it like a bullet. I followed it to the other cats and closed the garage. I saw him licking a white she cat. 'That must be his mate',I thought. I kept watching them for hours. I saw them hunt and give food to the older cats. Then it hit me that theese cats were cats from WARRIORS. 'What clan are they from?'I wondered. I tried to reconize some of them. I couldn't but i knew they were from WARRIORS. No wonder there were kits and elders in the middle. The warriors were protecting them probably from me! I ran inside excitdly. "Calm down, Noala",Mom said. "What is it?" I smiled happily.

    I Also Recommend:

    Color War

If you know about Color War (from books #4 and #10), then you will know that a girly camper, Tori, shouldn't be team captain. Tori is stressed with being a bad captain, while her camp BFF is off with popular older girls, and not keeping her promise to help her with the captain challenge. Natalie tries to fit in with older popular girls, but then gets in a fight over a sweet older boy. How will these rich girly girls solve their problems? Read "Golden Girls" to find out.

Another Camp Confidential that makes me remember why I don't like The Clique

Golden Girls is the newest installment to the Camp Confidential series. I love how Natalie's character has progressed from her first involuntary summer at Lakeview to her third summer where she's actually excited for Color War. Well, only becasue Lainie Wilcox, the most popular girl in the sixth division - actually, the most popular girl at the camp - takes an interest in Nat's unique style and invites her to hang out. Nat thinks they've become the best of friends, until she realizes Lainie likes the same boy as her. Nat, Torie, Priya are the stars in this book, their troubles about boys, friends, and being a team captain. The reason I love this book and the series is because everyone trys to get along and tries to help their friends, whereas in the popular series, The Clique, the girls are snotty, spoiled brats who could care less about their friends - in my opinion. The girls in the Camp Confidential series present good role models for young girls, and prove that you can have drama without 'like, ohmigod, I just got 10 gossip points, cuz I, like, bought a new Prada purse! It's ah-dorable! And that girl is, like, an immature child, cuz she's nice.'

    Teffric book

Camp cofidential books is my favirote seris of books. In this one Natalie starts to hang out with the six disvin. But it turns out Laine and Natalie like the same six divison boy. So who wins the boy at the end. And that not it Alex and Grace warn her about Laine's dump you to the side days. Even though Natalie say's thier real friends. During color war Candance tries to help Natalie with a color war activie because the other girls are not telling her anything about it. I don't want to spoil what the color war activie is because it's new. Let me just say it's Aylssa special talent. And on Tori side of the story. She decides that Natalie not helping her at captation like she said she just not going to worry about. One thing she has to do for the team is enter the pie competion. Jenna wins. But is not good for Tori at the end of the pie competion. Priya thinks that red sould lose on puprose so the blue team can win. Jenna total dosen't like the idea. Tori over hears them and starts to ingore Priya. And red team and blue are not talking to each other. What team wins at the end. Read the book.
