Barnes & Noble - Ron Hart
When a rap star's career actually extends to a third or fourth album, it's time to make room for his homies -- Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, and Nelly have all dropped house party collections. Tracks such as "Break Sumthin' " and "Smokin' Dro" are classic Dirty South party starters. What makes this opus stand out from the pack, however, are cuts such as the soulful and nostalgic "Growing Pains (Do It Again)," featuring Luda's labelmate Scarface, and a standout performance from DTP's lone female member, Shawnna, who sounds like a rugged blend of Fugees-era Lauryn Hill and Master P rap moll Mia X. Other highlights include the hilarious "Pimp Council," featuring West Coast legend Too $hort, and the bombastic "When I Touch Down," featuring southern rap luminary Jazzie Pha. Although the disc doesn't go against the grain, it still features several golden hip-hop moments.
All Music Guide - John Bush
It's clear that Disturbing tha Peace isn't just a way for Ludacris to play the rap entrepreneur; he not only toured with the crew -- Shawnna, Lil' Fate, Tity Boi, I-20, Jay Cee -- and hand-picked them, but delivered a full album with plenty of spots for himself as well as a trio of starring guests: Scarface, Mystikal, and Too Short. Though it's these tracks that stand out "Growing Pains Do It Again," "Pimp Council," the uproarious "Move B***h", the newcomers do pretty well too. Shawnna especially shines on the opener "Break Sumthin'" and "R.P.M.," while his production follows the blueprint for Down South ballin'. No, it's not up to the level of Ludacris' own output, but Golden Grain proves that Disturbing tha Peace is solid enough to stand on their own.

    Finally, a group gone RIGHT!!!

All too many times rap artists have tried to come up with a group after they establish a name for themselves (i.e. D12, St. Lunatics, etc.). However, they usually do not add any elements to the industry. Now, DISTURBIN THA PEACE has done it! A fine colaboration on hip-hop and rap and even some new-style beats, GOLDEN GRAIN is a good investment!

    Disturbin' Tha Peace

Ludacris has finally introduced his crew to tha game with their first album, Golden Grain. Disturbing Tha Peace consists of I-20, Fate, Shawnna, Tity Boi, DJ Jay-cee and Ludacris himself. Plenty of the tracks on this CD have some of the tightest beats like R.P.M. featuring Twista and Pimp Council featuring Too Short. The skits, Big Chain Records and Behind The Chain, are hilarious. Overall, this album is well worth a look if you liked either of Luda's previous CDs!!!

    Pretty Good CD!!!

This CD is another great one produced by Ludacris, with some help from the DTP! One of the hottest albums that I've heard so far since Ludacris last CD release of "Word of Mouf." My favorite track on the CD was by Shawnna, called "Posted" she was putting it down for the DTP! Also the skits were hilarious, by not as funny as Ludacris's last CD Word of Mouf. So I suggest if you're a real Ludacris & DTP fan you should go get this album right now!

    A CD worth getting!

What can I say about D.T.P., except that they have got it going on! Their CD "Golden Grain" is a perfect example of dirty south bounce music that'll keep you on your toes all day long. The first single released off the album was the "Growing Pains Remix" featuring Lil' Fate, Ludacris, Shawna, Scarface, and Keon Bryce. The track bring you back to what it was like growing up as a kid. From have G.I. Joe's and Cabbage Patch kids to having your bike stolen. Another one of the tracks that I'm sure you have heard by now is "Move Bi**h" (Ludacris featuring I-20 and Mystikal). If you're having a bad day or are stuck in traffic on the way home just open th windows blast the song and sit back and relax! Also, the song Posted by Shawnna is a tight song. Shawnna is one of the best female rappers in the game next to Eve. So all in all, you can't go wrong with an all star team like the Disturbing Tha Peace family!

    DTP: Dirty South's Finest

This cd BUMPS! Luda & DTP bring back Twista (Chi-Town What! Chi-Town What!) for what has to be one of the illest songs ever recorded. It's called RPM for a reason, Shawna, Twista & Luda just spit some of the fastest flows ever. Def Jam South CEO Scarface adds a nice blend to the remix of Growin' Pains (Do It Again). All in all this is a must have cd in you love hip hop.

    Phat

After hearing all the hype for this, I had to pick it up, I'm a big fan of Luda. I think over all once you listen to the album a couple of times you will enjoy it, it's great to hear everyone in DTP on songs, it's a real mix of styles and voices, some work and some don't. My fav. song is track 8, R.P.M., it's the ish, hands down, I love hearing everyone rap fast and keep a great pace with the beat. The Growing Pains Remix is pritty tight, altough the original is better it is phat to hear everyone else take on the song and what they have all been through, so I think this is an overall good album, the production is tight and so are the rappers. One thing that should have been left out is "Move B***" cuz it's been out for awhile on Word Of Mouf, but I can see it would be a money maker.
