Overview

Bestselling author Jennifer Blackstream returns to her Blood Prince series with another enchanting twisted fairy tale in book three, as a devil-may-care incubus finds himself at the mercy of an imprisoned sun maiden with the world's most overprotective witch for a mother...

A devil-may-care incubus with a ravenous appetite . . .

Adonis is a demon prince determined to bury his desire for love in the pleasures of the flesh. Bound by a vow to maintain his physical form, Adonis requires a great deal of energy just to live, energy he can only absorb through the carnal arts...more energy than any one woman could ever provide. Adonis knows he could never offer a woman the fidelity she would deserve as his wife, and so carries on with his wild ways, his cryptic smile hidden behind a puff of smoke. No woman can reach beyond the heat of his embrace to touch his heart. Not even the golden-haired maid whose lonely eyes keep wooing him back to her side.

A damsel in distress with the power to destroy him . . .

Ivy has lived in a tower, locked away from the rest of the world, for her entire life. Her mother, a witch who leads the resistance against the bloodthirsty kings of the five kingdoms, is her only company. Ivy knows that her battle-weary mother relies on the golden power flowing through her veins for the energy to continue the good fight, but she can't completely smother the selfish yearning to see the world beyond the safety of their hidden valley...especially when her wildest fantasy almost literally falls into her lap. Despite their best intentions, they're drawn together like phoenixes to flame--and if they're not careful, they'll both burn.

Will the demon finally find true love? Or will the witch succeed in keeping his would-be princess out of reach--permanently?

Editorial Reviews

Night Owl Reviews - Eva N/A
"This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat with suspense, adventure, magic and romance... The attraction between Adonis and Ivy is strong and as hot as the sun... The author has created an exciting and entertaining series with her own unique combination of fairy tale and paranormal elements in a captivating world of enchanting kingdoms."
Just Talking Books - Marta N/A
"This is such a fun idea for a series. Each book in the Blood Prince series builds upon the last to take the reader on an amazing journey. All are stand alone stories without dreadful cliffhangers! Five princes, all from different realms, which I predict will have an amazing conclusion."

So if you haven’t read the first two books of this series, each story is a retelling of the classic fairy tales, just with a supernatural twist, and some awesome writing. And I loved loved the first one, which was the werewolf meets Cinderella LOL and the second one, is Snow White, and Prince Charming is a vampire LOL and now, we’ve got Rapunzel meets Prince Incubus. HEHEHEHE I absolutely love this author’s imagination and where she is taking the stories. You still get the feel for the original tale, and yet, you love this new rendition just as much! Maybe just a little more fun and gritty!  Ivy is your Rapunzel, she has this awesome hair, and magical healing powers, and boy can she paint! And she’s so sweet, and she takes care of her mother every night when she gets home from fighting the horrible war. Except that Ivy finds out that her life is basically a lie, and the horrible war starters are the ones fighting for peace and her mother is actually her kidnapper. And she wants out. And she’s willing to fight for it. She has probably a lot to deal with all at once. She maybe hasn’t had the horrible up comings as the other ladies so far of the series, but she gets it all dumped at once. I think she handled it pretty well LOL Adonis is so easy going, and you really get to learn his secret, that he wants love, even if he can’t have it, and why he’s in the body he’s in, and why he did it. And yes, he’s an incubus, but he’s not a bad one. And he’s actually quite loyal and devoted. And I think he is just so darn cute!  This romance was a little hotter than the others, though it was still just as sweet. I think they fill each other to make the perfect fit for what the other was missing. And I LOVED the plot twist, and the story of Ivy’s “mother” and how everything came to be. And I loved that I could FEEL when they would paint. Very cool! I love everything about this series. And now, I am learning even more about the princes and their back stories, but also more about their present and their kingdoms. I’m finding that really cool because you are learning a little as you go. I absolutely cannot wait for more! 5 GOLDEN STEAMY SUNNY PAWS! :)

I will admit that I did not think I’d like Adonis. I always resist a rake, and it is usually oh so pointless. In the end, it took longer for Ivy to win me over than that charming demon. He has a lovely heart and a greater spirit, and I think she complements him quite nicely. I loved the story. I thought it was fun, it sucked me in right from the start, had some really sultry and steamy moments, and I hated tearing myself away from it to, oh I don’t know, sleep or work. Damn necessities of life. I think that my one point against the story—and unfortunately for me it was a bit big to ignore—was the reason for Adonis taking the dead body of the prince. I just don’t know; it felt a tad flat to me and I had issue feeling any real, deep emotion toward it. Don’t get me wrong, I thought that it was a grand gesture on his part, but, I still wondered “So what?” It was great for the Kingdom of Nysa, but I wanted more. In the end, the further along the series this story of the five princes progresses, the better it gets, and I can’t wait for the next installment.

I loved this book. Its a fun telling of your fairytale Rapunzel, except Rapunzel is a girl named Ivy. Ivy's prince is a Demon named Adonis. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I wish they would put how many pages are in the books before you pay for them. It's very disappointing to pay basically $4.00 for a measly 170ish pages.

With each dark and delightfully twisted retelling of a classic fairytale Jennifer writes they only get better. From werewolves and glass slippers in book one to vampires and seven dwarves in book two is it no wonder that book three of this series gives us a thillingly delicious twist to Repunzel? Fantastic writting, witty and charismatic characters, and a horny demon prince. This series is a must read!
