"This manual is for ready use at a patient's bedside or for an overview of medical toxicology for housestaff, medical/pharmacy/nursing students, and other individuals who do not need the in-depth treatment or references/citations offered by the main text. Goldfranks has always been one of the classic texts for the field of toxicology, and his manual of toxicologic emergencies is an attempt to replicate a more succinct version of his more detailed standard. It does a good job in highlighting the most important points, though in terms of utlity, Kent Olson's handbook still sets the standard for the easily carried toxicoly text one carries around for quick usage. That being said, this manual is still very useful and does a nice job covering a broad field - I just wish I can find my copy!
